This replacement cylinder is a beast—strong, sturdy, and a great value for the price. It was easy to install and instantly made my chair feel more solid and secure. The product claims to hold up to 1000 pounds, and it really does feel that strong. No wobble, no slow sinking over time like my old one. My wife comes into my office and i'm not worried to have her hop onto my lap. That said, I made the mistake of not measuring beforehand. I was using this on a Lazyboy executive chair, and the new lift was taller than expected. Now my knees bump into the underside of the desk, which was on me for not double-checking specs. I’ve since ordered a shorter one, but I’m saving this for another chair because the quality is excellent. If you need a tall, heavy-duty gas lift and have the space for it, this is a solid choice. Just be sure to measure your setup first!

Another product I wish I had known about 15 years (and 2+ chairs ago). Thanks to Gemini (AI) for helping me figure out what this part was called, so I could find it on Amazon. Most new chair cylinders give out after 5 for me. I bought this heavy duty one and it fit (easy assemble) and worked flawlessly. Will rereview if it doesn't hold. I'm also glad it saved me from throwing an otherwise good Staples chair in the landfill. Felt like a double win.

This is a PERFECT replacement cartridge for my office chair. I thought I would have to buy a whole new chair, but with this cartridge, it's like new! Super easy to replace and it lifts even higher than my old cartridge. I would have no problem buying this again if needed.

Review of Office Chair Cylinder. My office chair is pretty old, but still quite functional and not all that uncomfortable. The pneumatic cylinder however is leaking to the point that I have to raise my chair almost every time I sit in it the first time each day. This has good reviews and has a very good weight rating. I need to lose a few pounds, but this is rated more than enough for me. I am not a handyman by any means. However, I found that installing the new one to be impossible as it just wasn’t going to fit. I took it out of the box it arrived in and could tell. Perhaps my chair was just too old.

My chairs gas cylinder wouldnt hold the seat up if anyone sat on it. I tried a few "fixes" as I mainly wanted it at max height, which was already too low for me. My main fix was duct tape as it was suggested by some diy cylinder fix. This eventually stopped working. Getting my old cylinder off was EXTREMELY difficult. Replacing it with this one was extremely easy!! Just plop it in the old base, set the chair onto this new HOSALI gas cylinder and it was immediately good to go, sat perfectly in the based and tightly into the mounting hole nice and firmly, no wiggle. The chair now goes up BEYOND a point that even I, 6'0 with long lets, needs but I'm glad I bought this height for my chair in case I do ever need it higher. It also feels way smoother than the old cylinder when rotating in the chair. It glides very easily but stays where I want it. I am truly shocked that this replacement is better than any of the dozens and dozens of computer chairs I've used all my life. It feels luxurious, which feels strange to say about something so mundane! I'm planning on replacing the chair soon as its not very comfortable to begin with, but I know I'm keeping this cylinder for my next chair and not even installing the base model! It really is THAT much better.

It worked just fine. The hard part is always deinstalling the old one. But installing this is easy.

I've been having a sinking executive desk chair for quite some time. It has been driving me crazy while limiting my ability to actually concentrate on work. I tried all different types of hacks, but none make an actual difference until I ran into this solution. After installing it, the seat feels brand new. Higher heights than what I had before (which is a plus for me), feel very sturdy, and does not ink at all! For $20, this is definitely worth it! My experience with Removing the older cylinder: Removing the older cylinder was the hardest part. I didn't have a pipe wrench at hand. I tried striking the base with a 4lbs sledgehammer for over an hour without avail. Luckily I had a locking plier with me. Turns out the best solution is to tighten the locking pliers on the old cylinder. Make sure the base is grounded/anchored then hit the end of the locking pliers to imitate a sudden twisting motion. After a couple of hits, I was able to twist the cylinder within the base until I was able to take it out. Much better than senselessly pounding the base with a hammer, as the best way to actually get the cylinder out is by twisting it out like a screw. I didn't find the gloves to be useful as they're very slippery. Seems like their only benefit is to keep your hands clean while going through the installation process.

Sin duda es el mejor cilindro de gas que he comprado, tenia uno que venia con mi silla gamer y que se descompuso (deja de subir el cilindro y se bajaba solo) Y compré este en su lugar. Antes que nada es mucho mas alto que los estándares y el recorrido que hace el cilindro al extenderse te da una altura mayor que a la de cualquier silla. Hasta ahora me ha servido y aguantada. Es muy resistente y si soporta el peso que dice. Por lo menos hasta donde yo se cerca de unos 150 kilogramos. Sin duda lo recomiendo y lo volvería a comprar. Además vienen de regalo unos guantes blancos de trabajo. Qué mas puedes pedir.

Pathetic product, has not even worked properly for 2 months, and its already gotten lose and descending on its own.
