CRAFTSMAN VERSASTACK Tool Storage, Open Tote Case Crate Tool Box (CMST17809)

I evaluated several modular tool storage platforms and manufacturers. The criteria for selection was utility, availability, and most of all price. Modular tool storage systems are prohibitively expensive and a full set ends up costing upwards of a five hundred to a thousand dollars for basically what amounts to a bunch of cheap plastic boxes. No doubt there are high profit margins on these products.I ultimately selected two platforms due to backwards compatibility. I selected the Craftsman Tradestack and Craftsman and DeWalt Versastack/TStack.I purchased the larger Craftsman Tradestack for the rolling base toolbox and due to it's adapter, which allows you to attach Versastack/TStack storage and toolboxes.These Versastack Tote boxes are great. They are sturdy with decent recessed folding handles and have the benefit that I can buy multiple totes and stack them together in any configuration with other boxes and lock the stack together. The tote has an insert along the inner wall that allows you to put frequently needed hand tools.I can buy several and use them for general tool and materials storage and only grab the totes I need. They are great for all those odds and ends and/or bulky tools that are difficult to store and carry.And they are affordable, since these are technically last generation storage systems, you can find them on sale and on clearance. The ability to attach to the larger Craftsman Tradestack system is just a bonus. Craftsman was smart to provide an adapter with their base Tradestack system. Additionally since Versastack is also 100% compatible with DeWalt TStack, I can mix and match boxes from each platform based upon need.Ultimately this was the deciding factor for me to invest in these, compatibility across two different generations and three different platforms.The only other platform with cross-compatibility is the Festool Systainer, Tanos Tloc, and Metabo Metabox, which all use the Systainer standard.Cross-compatibility and functionality across multiple generations is a huge thing. There are all these purposely incompatible competing tool systems, each of which are vying for your dollars, and require you to invest in a manufacturers platform rather than just being able to buy the best tool for a particular job. Whether it's cordless power tools and batteries, or storage systems.Open cross-compatible standards are important, and without these open standards nobody wins except the companies. Certainly not consumers and certainly not the environment.That's why I chose this particular system.

Sturdy construction

Craftsman VersaStack pieces are a total game changer. I absolutely love them and use them for my art supplies when we travel. I am able to load up all of my watercolor supplies including books (I have multiple pieces) all organized so when I am in the camper (smaller space that requires organization) painting I can reach everything with ease and when I am done can return everything to it's place and scoot the units out of the way. Whether using these for crafting, tools, heck nail tech supplies, kids lego's, anything that needs organizing you will find a piece or in my case multiple pieces that fit the bill and offer a storage and organization solution!

Who needs packouts! This is a very viable option on a budget for the average DIY guy!

I got the craftsman toolbox system for Christmas, but my spouse didn’t get me the bucket. I really liked this because it has a space in the front to put in screwdrivers or anything. That little holder is an easy to grab area for often used items. It fits on the rest of the system and I absolutely love it!

These tool totes are perfect for clipping into other versastack components and also clip into the old dewalt tstack boxes. These are great for holding assorted tools and related items for different types of work but the best feature is that it’s durable enough at a price where I can still afford to buy tools to put in it.

Good price to hold, store, transport / stack tools after work or to a worksite from workshop and back.

I use this tote for all my plumbing tools. I switched to using a hard plastic tote after my last fabric tool bag wore out on the bottom. It’s much more durable than the fabric tool bags

Es buen producto, de buenas dimensiones y es resistente al uso que damos en el trabajo, transportamos la herramienta de mano y herramienta eléctrica como estériles, taladros, etc. De momento ha funcionado perfectamente, pues es una caja son compartimentos internos, tapaderas y broches, solo el asa, y es robusta.
