Finite Mathematics and Calculus with Applications (9th Edition)

CAUTION: used books do not come with ACCESS CARD PACKAGE even though title and description on first page clearly states so. The description on front page is only for new books. Not sellers fault. Amazon needs to make a change to allow used book description on front page as well as new book description. This could be done better. Needs improvement on amazon's part.

i was hesitant because it was only $13, but being the broke college student that i am, I went ahead a bought it. Shipped fast and I got the text book i needed while saved $100+!

Book is alright, purchased it because it is required for two math courses I have to take. Overall pleased with the application portion of the text, I feel like in the business aspect of things it makes a little more sense for me. Questions range from easy to difficult as they should. The back of the book contains answers to odd numbered questions, but does not work through the actual problems (which is a plus because it makes you think and analyze your own answer if you get something wrong). My instructor prefers to use the textbook in class and it seems to compliment his teaching style well. Purchased from Amazon.com, not an individual seller on Amazon.com, so the text came wrapped appropriately and in new condition as advertised.

Great book, but a great instructor is required.

Great content for a math text that offers a survey of topics. If I bought this book again I'd buy a new copy though because the spiral binding on the used copy I purchased is coming apart and I have to be really careful with it whenever I use it.

The book came on time and I was able to purchase at a great price.

Better than expected

I highly recommend this book for certain topics. This is how I finally came to understand the simplex algorithm. It was explained so well. This book also helped me understand how to calculate a mortgage. Now I'm no longer in the dark about that. I'd recommend other books for statistics and calculus. Nevertheless, as a resource covering such a broad array of mathematical topics it does a pretty good job.

I feel this is an excellent introductory math textbook, particularly since it covers a wide range of topics. I needed it for a calculus class, but it includes a lot more than just calculus. It's great to have a reference for a wide range of introductory math topic in one book, particularly if you're not required to take a lot of math classes and may only buy one math textbook.
