GREAT for Kitchen Herbs in a dark winter kitchen
Bought it to grow rosemary and thyme (herbs I bought with roots in the grocery store-- used what I needed and then thought-- "why not plant them"). It is winter and even though I am in California-- my kitchen, where the herbs are, does not get good sunlight. I found out AFTER I'd planted the two herbs I should have let the roots sit in water for 24 hr. prior-- even without doing that-- I can see new sprouts on both the rosemary and thyme--- I don't think it would have happened without this light. I have changed the lighting from purple (meant to flower and such) to only blue as the thyme is growing long and straggly. Blue (as I'm told) should be for the chlorophyll, I want more green and less growing. It gives off little to no heat, uses little energy, and is small and is very convenient. Great for one plant or several herbs in a 8" diameter container.I only gave it 4 because even though it has been three weeks---I just hope my herbs have rooted. If they have--- Then I give this light 5 Stars.

Very good, but is not 10W with the stock power brick.
==== Update 8/19/17 ====I am re-writing this review after having had the grow light for about 7 months. In my initial review, I complained about the power adapter being very cheap, and only a 1A/5W adapter, despite the unit being advertised as a 10W light. I have now had this grow light for about 7 months, and while I still feel it is not right for the unit to be called 10W while it only ships with a 5W power adapter, I like the light enough to upgrade my review from 3 to 4 stars, and I definitely recommend this plant light. I use it primarily as a supplemental light in my kitchen. My kitchen receives a fair bit of sun, but I find the light is useful for plants that are not directly in the window, and to keep the plans from reaching for the sun too much. After my first review, I received an e-mail from the vendor noting that the theoretical power is 10W, but the actual power consumption is 5-8W, and that using a 2A power brick will cause the unit to run hot and may shorten the life of the unit. Mine definitely runs warm, but I use a timer to run it in two ~4hour windows during the day with a 30 minute cool-down period around noon, and it seems to be fine.Physically, the lamp is really solid. The gooseneck is still tight, it doesn't sag or fall. The clip is very large, opens wide enough to clamp onto a 1 1/2" butcherblock counter top, and is all metal with some thin foam padding to keep it from scratching. The neck is long enough to easily light plants that are 12-14" tall (includes the pot, of course), and you can always clip it to something above the table for taller plants. I have used it successfully with herbs, succulents, and a hibiscus sapling. All in all, four stars, definitely recommend.=== Original review from 1/26/17 below ===Know what you are buying. You are buying an inexpensive Grow Light from China. Set your expectations accordingly. For example, product says it it is a 10W Desk Grow light, but product ships with a 5V, 1A USB adapter. That is only 5W. I replaced this with a high-quality 2A USB adapter, and the light is noticeably brighter out of the box with the correct USB adapter.Apart from that, the product seems like a decent value for what you get. This isn't a negative review, just understand that you are getting a very cheap product, and there are likely to be some corners cut.

This is easy to set up
Currently I'm using it for three lemon seedlings I got as a gift over the holidays. This is easy to set up, adjust, and move around my one bedroom apartment. Almost two weeks into using it and my lemon seedlings are thriving, getting ready to transplant them into pots. The switch does get warm after about two hours of use. I have not left it one when I leave.

Become a Growing Star
AMAZING LIGHT!!! I'm growing a Phalaenopsis, with a 'New' Spike', in my Room, on my Desk, upstairs with NO Windows. I, received this plant from a local Store, in January, as a throw-away. Not in good health, and Dried out. I've never used Lights, have seen Grow Operations, but, way to Intensive/expensive.This Small/Attractive/Matte Black/moveable Neck/at least 12 Settings, Clips on the Edge of my Desk, Takes up NO Space, and the Light gives out a Nice/None Bright Pink/Blue Hue, has brought this Plant back to Life, New Leaves, and a New Flower Spike. I, have it Plugged in to AC Power now, but, could use the USB/Adapter, and Plug it into my PC. African Violets are next.EXCELLENT PRODUCT, NO PROBLEMSGREAT PRICE AND FAST SERVICE, CAN'T ASK FOR MORE!!!I'm GROWING Orchids, in a Cave!!!

Nice Light
So far this has worked perfectly for my desk plants. I started using it a few days ago and I think it is giving my plants the extra light that they need. My herbs only get sunshine for a short part of the day when the light comes through my window. This provides them with the extra light they need. The clamp is very strong and it holds the light in place securely. It is easy to flex the neck and adjust to point the light wherever you want it. It has soft or bright light modes in both red and blue, or you can use both at the same time. You can plug this into the wall or use the USB and plug it into a device. It works great. I did attach a short video showing the light in a dark room so you can get an idea of how it well it works.

I love this lamp
I love this lamp. I've got it set up with my parlor palm plant because it's not doing well. I've not had much luck in growing one and am hopeful I can revive this one. There are quite a few settings with this light and I love that the cord is long enough that I can plug it in practically anywhere. I can adjust the gooseneck to fit over my plants, by lowering it or making it higher or really any position will work with this. The clamp is super durable and I haven't had any issues with it slipping at all. For a plant grower like me, this is a perfect choice. Please see video for more details.

Doesn’t last long
I originally made it a 4 Star. But changing to 1. It’s been 5 months of using it office (5 days a week, 8 hour days) and it is losing light. It is so dim now it won’t be any use. It used to be about 5 times this bright. I think within 1-2 more days it will be completely dead. :-( in answer section seller states it has 1 year warranty but have gotten no response on how to get it replaced.
