So Good
The end of MoonGell and duct tape. This is a great invention. Some rooms make it impossible to not add something to a snare drum to dial it in. This solves a lot of problems. 3 different levels of muffling and you can flip it into an off position without taking it off. I have them on all of my snares and even added them to my toms just in case. The black leather will leave a mark on the drumhead if that is a concern for you. I love it and woulkd recommend to any drummer.

Perfect little product
I was skeptical. I mean, how many muffling products do we need? I always have a roll of gaff tape and a package of Moon Gel handy so why would I need this? I dont in all reality, but I'm glad I have it. This is a very well-made ingenious product that is easy to use. I love that you have four different options with the Snareweight. I feel like it helps save time vs. cutting a gel or tape, adding more gel or tape, etc. Get one, especially if you do studio work where time is of the essence and the producer or engineer want different sounds on the fly; you'll be glad you have it.

Perfect for Reigning in Overtones
Not a fan of muting my drums at all. I would rather choose the right head and keep the drum open. For my ear, beats Moon-Gel or Zer-o Rings hands down. To my ear, they change the fundamental characteristics of the drum sound, making it flat and dead, taking the material you chose for the drum shell out of the equation. I've never made them work to my liking. But these are different. They don't deaden the drum and allow it to breathe while killing some overtones and ringing. Very pleasing to my ear and sound sensibilities I rarely use it, but I'm happy to have it.

Works great! It eliminates unwanted overtones and buzz without choking the drum.
It's a little smaller than I imagined, but works perfectly! It removes the unwanted overtones and snare buzz without the snare sounding choked or muffled. My snare was just sounding a bit harsh when hit off-center, but this eliminated the problem. It has a similar sound to the old wallet-on-the-snare trick, but doesn't choke the drum as much as a wallet. On the technical side of things, the leather is too small and too thick to use the magnets to fold in a side or fold the whole thing up - but I don't care about that part because the sound is just right with it all down and flat. Overall, I'm really happy with it and would highly recommend it.

Good But Overpriced
I like this product. Easy to install and versatile. Just flip it up to turn off. Plus you can fold in the sides for 3 different levels of Dampening. The overall dampening when both flaps are down is minor. Tooo expensive IMO.

Best snare dampening device
I love these things. Bought one for each of my tom drums and two for my snare. I've tried every kind of muting -- various kinds of tape, zero rings, towels. I've found that these work the best by far. The M1b is great -- it doesn't provide as much dampening as the other snareweights. I actually prefer a little bit of the ringing overtones on my snare, they allow for the snare to be a little bit more sensitive, both acoustically and touch, so the M1b works great for this purpose. It's also nice to be able to adjust it on the fly.

It works as intended: lightweight dampening
It's a neat product! Installs and uninstalls super easy, provides really tasteful dampening to focus on the punch of my snare rather than the lingering overtones that bleed throughout my kit in a mix. No nonsense, works exactly how a rational thinking person would assume it works. No complaints!

Perfect for metal snare drums
These are perfect for eliminating unwanted ring on metal snares. Using one on a Ludwig 14 x 6.5 Supraphonic and brass 14 x 5 black beauty. They work great without choking out the batter heads too much.

Dandy! Holds secure, doesn't get in the way, does exactly what it should - love it.
