My grandfather's cousin's best friend is dead so my grandfather Herbert told me to write this review of the hero blanket. Disclaimer: He did not die because of a fire, he ate a whip cream can and sadly passed away. Gramps wanted for you to know about his cousin's friend, despite it not being directly related to the blanket. "This is an exceptional product. I had the chance to test it firsthand. Back in the good ol' days, when I was 86 years young, I had an unfortunate accident involving a duck, a gas station, and a mound of cheese. Now let's talk a little about this duck. It wasn't an actual duck, it was a flame thrower I named Duck. Now, Duck was my best friend. I took him everywhere, airplanes, sporting events, border crossings, nuclear power plants, and prisons. If it could burn, Duck and I were there. One day, Duck was really not in a good mood. I was pumping gas at a gas pump in Idaho when Duck decided that he had enough and he jumped out of my pocket. I had forgotten to put his safety on that day so you can probably guess what happened next. A burst of flame was let loose from Duck and the gas that I was putting into the car, burst into flames, catching me on fire and giving me the surprise of my life. I pulled out Beef (the Hero Blanket) and I wrapped it around myself and fell fast asleep against my will and when I woke up, I was relieved to find myself alive with my skin in tact. My first thought was, this blanket saved my life! My second thought was, I'm hungry. I reached into my pocket and pulled out Blorp, my trusty mound of Swiss Cheese. I gobbled him down and said, "Mmmmmm, I never knew you were so good melted. Thank goodness Beef turned you into queso instead of gratin." Overall, this blanket could save thousands of lives if thousands of people buy one, especially if the judge allows me to keep my flamethrower. Your guinea pigs and their flammable hay will be so proud of you if you bring one home.

These fire safety blankets are the best invention I have ever seen and I got them in a pack of four and being a normal human. I had to try it out and I don’t recommend it, but I take things to the extreme. We did it outside in a large field, but I created several different types of fires that were in contained Conditions. ( in a medal container ) I do not recommend you try this yourself unless you are a professional. But since I have already tried it, I can tell you it does put out grease fires and any other fire. You can throw at it as soon as you cover it and let it sit until it cools down the fire is out without a mess and the best part of it is the blanket is reusable. Yes once they are used, they do get a light brown scorch mark on them, but they do not smell and all you have to do is shake it out and follow the directions for cleaning and fold it back up. Put it back in the bag and it’s all set to be reused again I have Three that have never been. Used & I hope I never have to use them and I still have the one that we tried to make sure it worked properly which it did and that one is back in its bag ready to use again and has been sitting in its bag for over two weeks now and does not have any smell of smoke fire or anything coming from it so they are definitely reusable, but they are definitely something you want to have and hope you never have to use. There are several different companies selling these, but this is the only company that is 100% guaranteed so if you’re going to buy one or several only buy this specific brand other brands, I’ve tried in the past do not work. This is the only one I actually was shocked. It worked right away on a grease fire, it put it right out so definitely get these as a gift or just for peace of mind because you could lose more than just your property in a house fire and trust me. I know we had three houses that were close together across the street from where I live burn to the ground in less than 15 minutes. That’s how fast the fire spread and they lost everything they owned and we’re lucky. No one was killed so these blankets are a must buy and can be learned how to use by a child. Don’t forget only buy this brand. This is the 100% effective brand. There is well worth the money and the peace in mind you have knowing your home is safe.

This is a very practical safety item to have in the kitchen. It doesn’t take much space and it’s good to know it’s there if needed

Unfortunately, we had to use our fire blanket the other night. A couple of observations and tips. Observations: red tostados catch on fire very easily in a toaster! And the flames get high very quickly. Now as for the blanket: 1. The velcro is pretty strong on the storage bag, so if you don't have the bag hanging from a secure hook where you can just jerk on the tabs, releasing the blanket, it takes a second to get it to pull the strong velcro closure and get the blanket out of the bag. 2. The blanket does a good job at keeping the flames down, but it didn't "stop" the fire. The fire in the toaster continued to burn underneath the blanket after placing the blanket over the toaster. I assume because it's fiberglass and doesn't "drape" smoothly, allowing oxygen continued access. But it did a great job containing the flames, which were spreading quickly. That allowed us to fully extinguish the greatly diminished fire using baking soda. 3. Just like you have fire drills in schools and offices, we should've practiced using it before we actually needed to use it. In the "heat of the moment" (pun totally intended), your adrenaline is roaring and it's harder to think calmly and quickly. Bottom line- Totally recommend this product. Saved us from what could have been a bad kitchen/house fire! We ordered 2 more for the garage and vehicle!

Love this multipack! I keep one in the cabinet next to my stove and one in our living room near the fireplace (and gave the rest to family as gifts). Very easy to open / use. I work with senior citizens and have been recommending this to them for fire safety. Highly recommend!

Bought for a youth group camp, although have not needed to be used so far they feel like good quality and prefer the soft casing and ability to hang up over the solid plastic option.

Fire blankets are used in oil fires where the accelerant (oil) is not miscible with water. Most household cooking fires are oil fires, definitely need an excellent-quality, certified fire blanket along with an ABE extinguisher. 5/5.

I have extinguishers but these fire blankets can be used by anyone. Great & fast for young & old hands. No pins to pull. Just drape over; done. Hope we never have to use them but glad to have them in the house.
