fireCable Plus Adapter for Firestick, Powers Amazon Fire TV Stick from TV USB Port, Eleminates AC Outlet Declutting Wires (See Fire Stick Comparison Chart)

I recently disconnected from Direct TV, gotten way to expensive. I was paying $210.00 a month for channels I wasn't watching. Switched over to Roku and I am very happy with streaming. This device plugs in to where the TV cable was, very easy to install. I paid $40.00 at Best Buy, great investment.

The Fire Cable works with my “Amazon Fire TV 4K streaming device (newest model)” and Samsung 55-inch Class OLED 4K S90D TV. At first it did NOT work until I utilized the correct USB port. When I first set up the Fire Cable with the Fire TV stick it did NOT work and I received the message that others received that there was not enough power to the Fire TV stick and I need to utilize the included wall cord and plug. “Insufficient USB power detected. Use the included USB cable and Amazon power adapter for proper operation”. I did as instructed, plugging the Fire TV stick into the wall and removing the Fire Cable. I then proceeded to set-up the Fire TV stick with all my streaming services, WiFi, etc… I came back to Amazon ready to setup a return of the Fire Cable and purchase the following device “Made for Amazon, USB Power Cable (Eliminates the Need for AC Adapter) at 2.5x the cost. Well, I watched the first video review of this product listing and found out I did NOT need to make a return but rather utilize a different port on the back of my TV. Yippee! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078KSHVCS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 I watched this video from “JUST A DAD” named “Amazon Fire TV Stick & USB Power Cable Adapter Review” and he explained that the cable purchased to do away with using the cord for the wall plug that you must have a certain amount of Volts (5.0 Volts = 1.0 Amp) for it to function. He explained that on the back of the TV there might be 2 different USB outputs as such 1x USB 5V = 500mA and 1x USB = 1 Amp which my Samsung does have. It appears I originally utilized the 1x USB 5V = 500mA port and this is why my Fire Cable did not function. I then redid the setup by plugging in the Fire Cable USB connector into the other USB port 1x USB 5V = 1 Amp and it worked beautifully. So before you return or discard the Fire Cable or any other adapter you might have purchased you should check to see which USB port you have plugged the Fire Cable into and if enough power is being supplied from the USB port to your Fire TV stick. Please see photo for my setup. Hope that helps some people with the similar situation as I had when I first setup the Fire Cable with my Amazon Fire Stick.

So, this wireless adapter is great; depending on your tv. I tried it on the 65" tv in the living room and it wasn't enough to power it. I ordered the actual Made for Amazon USB Power cable (https://amazon.com/dp/B078KSHVCS?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details), which has a small adapter that "Includes special power management circuitry that enhances the peak power capability of the USB port by storing excess energy and then releasing it as needed". That was enough to work on big screen. THIS cable works on the smaller tv in my bedroom. It's enough to "power" the Firestick with the smaller tv's circuitry and did help to eliminate more cords and taking up another outlet. I believe it would work on tv's up to 42". It's certainly worth the $10 to try it out.

THIS CABLE ACTUALLY WORKS!!! Hey everyone, I purchased this without reading the reviews. Like some stated, I received the message “sufficient power”. I came back to read the reviews and found out you must charge the Firestick before using the cable. I charged the Firestick and tried the cable again, but still received the same message of insufficient power. I initiated an Amazon return of the cable, but then decided to try to use the cable on my other Firestick. This tv is a 75in LG 4k smart TV purchased in 2018 (of note, the TV is unable to connect to the internet, so a friend suggested I purchase a FireStick for internet connectivity instead of repairing or replacing the tv……this tv has a BEAUTIFUL picture for sports and movies.). Amazingly, the cable worked. The Firestick on this tv had been plugged into the wall for two weeks prior to me switching to the cable. It’s been 3 days and so far it’s still working. I am going to purchase another cable for the other Firestick that’s on an older (9-10 yo) 65 in Samsung 4k smart tv to see if it will work. That Firestick has been plugged into the wall for about a week, so I am hoping it will work.

Sucks ass! Does not supply any battery back up power. Internal battery dead all the time.

Works perfectly and now I have a seamless look without the wires hanging from the tv.
