Good once you get it tuned in
Ok to be honest when I first got this installed, I was extremely disappointed because it was skipping like crazy and wasn't very smooth and I have done a number of shifter and derailleur installs in the past. What I ended up finding out is the cable makes a big difference. I had gone cheap and got a large bundle of no-name cable from amazon and figured I would give Shimano Optislick Shift Inner Cable a try since it was highly rated. This cable solved everything, the shifting is perfect, everything is smooth and all the indexing troubles I was having were solved. So, if you are replacing your shifter to work with your acolyte derailer change that cable to a good one.

Great drivetrain
Great drivetrain. I used this covert and older Trek Marlin to a 1x8 with plenty of range for my daughter. Shifts well and was easy to get dialed in.

It works like it should
