Solid explanation of dividend investing
I've always been intrigued by the idea of dividends, but have been told that they weren't a good investment most of my life. "How could it be bad to have something that pays you regularly?" Well the author breaks down the pros and cons over several chapters. They're more complicated than I thought, but the author explains how to avoid the common pitfalls that new investors might experience. You won't get rich with dividend stocks, but if you get started early, you can live a retirement with consistent passive income.

Good core information: A little too much of an infodump style
As far as I can judge with my non-expert opinion, it's good information centered around low-risk investing that pays off big for patient people. He also helps show pitfalls like the way brokers will encourage trading because they make money if you trade--not if you make money. The thing that held it back from five stars is that it's more of an infodump than a practical guide. A better strategy would have been "Hey, let's help you make your first couple (small) investments by digging in deeper on a subset of these topics. Then when that's done, take a look at this other material for your next round." As it is, my initial takeaway is "Dividend investing is too hard", but that's a natural reaction to this type of information delivery.

Excellent introduction to dividend investing
This book offers a great amount of information for a beginner like me to better understand the basics of investing in dividend stocks. While I have already started such investing on a small level, it was great to read about different options and strategies. The best part for me with this book is that the author outlines different strategies according to age. Since I am just over 50 years old, it makes sense that I will have different strategies than a 20-year-old getting started. This section of the book was immediately well worth the cost of its purchase for me!Based on the quality of its content and writing, I will try out some of the other books by this author. Some reviewers may be turned off by the numerous advertisements for other books by the author, but I actually appreciate this. It is a book about investing, and I want to know about other investment strategies from a resource I trust.I highly recommend this book!

dividend investing guide
I’ve been wanting to get more into dividend investing for sometime and thought that this would be a book I would be interested in reading. I learned the mistakes to avoid when buying dividend stocks are buying a stock solely on a hot tip, not doing the required research before buying or selling a stock, solely on yield, the missing stocks with low yields, focusing and current rather than future dividends, failing to monitor stocks and the market, buying a stock because it’s cheap, holding a poor performing stock for too long, giving too much credits to media reports and analysis, failing to account for taxes, and failing to reinvest dividends. Overall a useful guide on dividend investing.

Good Starting Point
This is a fine introduction for people who know nothing about dividends and investing in stocks that provide them. The information is fairly basic, but also is realistic and easily understood by someone with little knowledge of this investment strategy.

Very thorough
1. Dividend Investing for Beginners by G.R. Tiberius is an excellent resource which I will refer to again and again. After defining what dividend stocks are, Tiberius discusses the advantages and disadvantages of dividend stocks. I liked the section on Investing habits to practice such as stick to what you know, conduct your own research, play the long game and maintain reasonable expectations. Tiberius also goes through mistakes to avoid when buying dividend stocks, investing strategies by investment goal, and Investing methods. Chapter 5, investing methods, was definitely a challenge to me so this is something I will revisit. He covers investment plans, taxes, and REITs. A thorough and comprehensive discussion.
