My Dodge Ram has 165,000mi on it and started getting poorer gas mileage and a rough idle showed up but no Check engine light so I decided to start replacing all the sensors, belt, timing chain and ignition parts anyways as a precaution. After replacing everything listed and plugs, cap(brass contacts), wires, injectors, etc.. but not the coil I still had a hard start condition and sometimes it had a rough idle. Finally I replaced the stock coil with the MSD 8228 and sure enough my Ram runs great again. Starts right up and no rough idle. I did need the Accel adapter and now good to go another 160k.

Worth an upgrade than the oem one. My jeep xj responds very well.
