Google Cloud Cookbook: Practical Solutions for Building and Deploying Cloud Services 1st Edition

I am about halfway through the cookbook, which I am using in preparation for the ACE exam. Although at this point I understand much of the GCP ecosystem, the reasoning behind a few steps in these recipes are unclear to me. So one can type the instructions in the console and achieve the desired end result, but without achieving an understanding of why things worked. A few more lines of explanation as to why a particular step is necessary would be appreciated.On the housekeeping front, note that the gitHub repo for this book does not contain all the examples. So one would have to type in the (occasionally lengthy) code. The really terrible part (which does not fall on the authors) is that copy&paste from kindle works very poorly -- the indentation gets mangled, and the lovely copyright notice is brought in every time -- even if you copy one line of code -- truly annoying.
