Perfect fit. Doesn’t have a screen like it shows on some pictures.

I bought this filter for my 2012 Mazda 3 itouring with the skyactiv engine to have on hand after paying a oil change center a ridiculous price out of laziness. The price is great and I've used other Fram products in my other vehicle so I didn't expect a problem. I went to replace the filter in my Mazda today and found out that this filter doesn't fit even though the Amazon verification tool says it should. I can't return it because I bought it in advance and ultimately it's on me for not having checked myself that it fit when I received it, but I'm hoping I can help someone avoid making the same mistake I did.

Recently took my car in to put on new tires and they commented that I needed a new air filter. The price they wanted to charge was almost 5x the cost for me to buy this one off Amazon and replace myself. It took about 30 seconds to exchange the old for new one and it seems to be a perfect fit. It has a nice rubber seal around the edges which help to lock everything in place. I would definitely recommend this!

Last air filter I bought, I cheaped out and was annoyed that the rubber gasket seal was warped and didn't stay fast to the plastic frame of the filter. This time I decided to go back to the old reliable standard FRAM and bought this filter. SAME GASKET PROBLEM. It wraps around the outer edge of the plastic filter body but doesn't grip the inner side at all -- BY DESIGN. I can't be the only one old enough to remember air filters when the rubber gasket was firmly affixed to the frame body and never came off unless you got underneath the rubber and pried it off. Now when you go to shove it into the filter housing in your engine, the rubber seal wants to come right off. Never trusting this brand again. Next filter I buy at the store after examining it out of the box first.
