Providing fast toss-in convenience, Chimfex has been tested and proven to work by an independent lab, Omni Environmental Service. When activated and inserted into a stove or fireplace, Chimfex goes to work immediately producing emissions that smother a chimney fire by starving the fire of oxygen. It is recommended to have at least two Chimfex to provide additional suppression if needed. Note: Any occurrence of a chimney fire requires notification of local fire emergency personnel to insure the fire is extinguished.

Don't Take A chance
I have a wood burning stove. Although I clean my chimney monthly in the winter, a creosote fire started two seasons ago. After reviewing various products online, this one came out as one of the best. Hopefully I will not have to use it, however, it is giving me peace of mind just owning it.
