So I wasted so many hours pulling my hair out
It did not have CD, so I read the instructions that other people wrote and the seller gave me. I tried hours and hours. No explanation was given that rar. file needed to be unzipped. So I wasted so many hours pulling my hair out. Then I was told to download win zip to extract. So, I downloaded win zip which still did not work. I ended up requesting for a CD and they try to discourage to send one initially. I think they were trying to save postage as it came from overseas. I could understand that part, but if they sent CD in the first place. After installing CD, it finally worked, but now there is very annoying static noise which I can't seem to get rid of. So I am using my old adapter. Also, it is actually slower than my old adapter. I wanted to buy new one because my current one disconnects periodically. What a waste of time and the frustration. It is not faster, it created static noise, and the installation was horrible and extremely difficult. I was given credit for this product by Amazon due to the troubles, but it is not worth the trouble.

VERY EFFECTIVE PRODUCT.
This is just a short term(24 hours) review), yet hopefully I can offer a few helpful comments to prospective buyers..The description of the product describes an included CD to install a driver, and perhaps some documentation, but there is adequate information in the enclosed circular which describes how to load the driver, as well as a website off which to download the driver if the customer does not have a CDROM.My package did NOT include a CD ROM. I don't know whether or not this be an intentional updated omission, or a problem fulfilling the order. I was going to return the order for an exchange, or to email the company for the driver since I could not find it on the web in the product description on Amazon, as they claimed should be the case. Prior to that, I first decided to see if Windows 10 had a driver for this item which should merely be a standard bluetooth accessory, although perhaps some proprietary, additional features, not integral to basic function, might be included in their software. The following simple steps can be followed in an attempt to connect:1) Go into Device Manager/Network adapters and check to see if there be an entry for this unit as Realtek NIC USB Wireless 8812 AU. Double Click on that entry to the Driver tab, and make sure driver is functioning normally which should be the case. In fact, the driver dates from 2015 as a generic wireless driver for Windows.2) In Control panel, go into the Network Settings/Network Sharing/Join and from the list in that resultant Window, find the network that you want to join, click on it to enter the password for your wireless network which should incorporate your new USB receiver without difficulty. It is really a simple two step procedure. In fact, you can actually skip the first step, if you wish, and to use it as a troubleshooting step in the event you can't connect. Therefore, DON'T WORRY, if there be no CD supplied. This USB 3 receiver will transmit data far more quickly than USB 2; however, for most people's download speeds, including mine at 90 MB/s, USB 2 port connection will not result in any degradation of speed compared to that of USB 3 on the same unit. There is therefore NO need to use a USB 3 port on your laptop if there be competing input requirements from other hardware. If you still want to use USB 3, you can, of course, buy a USB 3 hub to attach to that one port, but, based on my experience, that is a waste of money unless you happen to be in an area of unusually high transmission, and have multiple USB 3 devices..The unit also has a WPS connecting button with which you can "automatically" connect to your router, if it have that option, but that really is a frill, for most customers.. As I'm sure most of you know, the 5 GHZ channel has a substantially higher transmission speed than 2.4, so choose the former option of your network, unless there be some reason to do otherwise. If you are using an extender(repeater), you'll have the native, 2.4 and 5 GHZ options from which to choose.Once connected, the receiver has worked flawlessly and retains its connection with no interruptions. Curiously, but not really importantly, it does not have a small pilot light which flickers with data transmission, or that comes on when you connect successfully. Therefore, do not expect to get any feedback from a receiver which appears to be "dead".In my setup, a Linksys 1200 AC router is on the second floor, and I have a Netgear E700 extender on the first floor. I am connected on the 5 GHZ option. My computer has a wired connection to the router and my transmission speeds are 90/6 Mb/s down/up respectively, while speed on my ASUS laptop downstairs with this receiver is amazingly identical. Some decrease might occur if your computer be substantially distant from the point of access, or there are physical obstructions in the path.A prime use for this receiver is the ability to upgrade a computer which only operates on 2.4 GHZ which will afford a notably slower internet experience. This will be evident in the list of choices of connections. If you decide to do this, first go into the BIOS to disable the inboard receiver, so that there is no interference. This product seems adequately solid in construction, with a detached cover for the USB onnector.BOTTOM LINE: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ( Will update if there be any problem with reliability over the longer term)

Only Works in Front USB Ports :/
UPDATE 2/9/17: This WiFi adapter is only working correctly in the front USB ports of my computer. When plugged into the back ones it constantly disconnects from the Internet, and I've tried all USB ports. I might end up returning this now because I can't have it where I want.----------------------------------------ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW------------------------------------------Works great now, but setup was a hassle. My package did NOT come with the setup CD that was supposed to be included. I had to get the driver download link from the product description here on Amazon. After I downloaded that, I had to find an app for Windows 10 that could open the RAR file containing the driver. Once I had that opened, I had to scroll through to find the setup.exe file to install the driver. After the install completed, I plugged in the WiFi adapter and attempted to connect to our network. It would connect to the local network but had no Internet access. I had to run the Windows diagnostics on the WiFi adapter which detected the problem "DHCP not enabled on WiFi". Windows diagnostics fixed that issue and now the WiFi adapter is working properly.PROS: - USB 3.0 (10x faster than USB 2.0) - WPS push button setup - 802.11 AC (3x faster than wireless N) - Dual Band 2.4GHz (300Mbps) & 5GHz (867Mbps)CONS: - Setup was a hassle (see opening remarks) - Setup CD was missing from my package - No indicator light on the device itself

No dropped connections! Download/Upload speeds are about optimal. Great alternative to name brand adapters!
I was skeptical about trying unknown brands for networking equipment however it was well worth it in this case. This Comfast wireless adapter performs rather well. Installation was a breeze with the included setup CD. It is being utilized by my desktop computer on the 2nd floor in the back of the house while the router sits downstairs in the living room by the front of the house. I have not been disconnected or suffered any performance issues due to the adapter. Connection strength is very strong with 867 mbps link rates and download/upload speeds are close to optimal which is terrific considering the floors and walls in between the wireless signals. This Comfast adapter is certainly as good as Netgear, Linksys or TP-Link wireless USB adapters I have tried in the past. Highly recommended!

Look no further, this is the perfect WiFi adapter.
Needed an emergency WiFi adapter for a computer that I built and researched PCI vs USB. Glad I took the USB route and found this with good reviews. It's never dropped a connection and holds a strong one. Now my computer's internet is faster than it's ever been, I have 50 Mbps internet and SpeedTest.net reports a 49.73 Mbps connection from a different room. This adapter is indeed dual band and plug and play for Windows 10 Pro. Just plugged it in and it immediately started working. One thing I noticed that sets this apart from other junk USB WiFi adapters I've used in the past; It does not get very hot. I downloaded GTA V (65 GB) and it never broke a sweat.
