The aluminum should be a black anodize finish. And for several of these they are. However I got a couple of these clamps and there were defects in the aluminum which didn’t anodize well. That made them cosmetically poor. Mechanically, these clamps are great....no issues whatsoever. These kinds of manufacturing issues can occur and that is fine. In this case I contacted Fotyrig and “Joy” responded promptly with a promise to send me a replacement right away....no question. This kind of exemplary service deserves 5 stars and future patronage. All merchants can make claims that they support what they sell, but the true test of a seller’s commitment is exactly what occurred here. Bravo Fotyrig!

Works ok. Pads for the grip had to be reglued

I use this clamp to hold a 1-inch diameter LED flashlight on a table-top camera tripod. Since the tripod has three 5-inch long legs that splay out almost 90° to the center support, I can put the flashlight in most any position without it falling over. As I thought the clamp's clamping handle was a bit stiff, a few drops of oil on its thread improved it. Definitely worth the money!

I bought this to mount a Atomos Ninja 2 to my tripod. Thankfully it's not something I absolutely need because this product broke shortly after I started using it.Cheap plastic. Handle at grip stripped and broke off the tightening nut weeks after I bought it. I can still tighten it with a pair of pliers, but come on, now!Also the foam padding on the jaws of the main clamp is glued on with super cheap glue that slips all over the place.If you need an articulating arm for professional use, and need it to reliably work, this is NOT what you are gonna want.

Solidly built with good tolerances. I don't use this for it's intended purpose so I can't speak to that. I use it to mount my PSVR camera to my tripod. For this it works phenomenally. It threads easily to my tripod and the clamp allows me to adjust my camera on the fly. Everything turns and threads smoothly.

This item came broken, poor quality. Unfortunately I had to return it the same day I got it!Update:I had given a one start for this but after refund and getting a free replacement I changed it to5 star. New one is working perfectly now. Nice at first, but eventually the plastic handle failed. The gear that allows the handle to ratchet sheered clean off making it unable to loosen the clamp. These type of clamps are great, I'd just invest some more money for the more quality ones.

Very Nice construction. It does appear that other attachments are required to have a fully operating component. The related items that were listed are not necessarily affixable but what Amazon is trying to associate. Adding product names and numbers of associated equipment in your write up would be helpful.
