i have not experienced this with this cover.

Q: If you don’t put any cards in it and open the flap, can you charge at all with MagSafe?

I managed to charge it like that, but the charge seemed to be slower than usual and the magnets didn't keep the charger in place. Wouldn't recommend this charging method - if you want to mag charge with this wallet, you take it off completely.
