Really wanted to like this thing.
It sure is pretty, in the right light when you can't see all the imperfections it shipped with. Some chips, some cracks during construction from using a totally reasonable amount of force, couple of scratches from the thing falling apart while putting it together because of some bizarre design choices. At the end of the day I have something that looks nicer than an Ikea unit if it is in the right light from the right angle. But for the money, I wish I'd gotten two Ikea units instead as I need another one but there is no way I am going to buy another one of these.

Turned Out Perfectly
I've put together a lot of inexpensive furniture before. First off, it was packed superbly; absolutely no damage in shipping. That's a huge plus right there. Don't let anyone tell you it's easy to put together, though. It was rough. The main issue was the fact that many of the screws that are meant to hook into the cams did not screw into the wood correctly- they went in at an angle. Backing them out a bit helped, but then it became an issue of not being sturdy. I cussed a lot. The end product turned out okay, though. We bought this with the intention of vinyl record storage and for that, it worked out well. The nook we placed it in seemed a bit dark and I haven't met an LED strip I didn't love, so I spruced it up a bit. We get lots of compliments on it.

There are no instructions that match the 3x3 cube
The box that arrived looked like it had traveled around the world and I was concerned that parts were damaged. Amazingly, it was packed pretty well and although there was a little damage, it was not significant. I decided to remove all of the parts and bring them inside and only when I started to put the shelves together did I notice that they sent the instructions for the 8 cube (4x2) and not the 9 cube (3x3), which is what I purchased. I went online and found the instructions for the 3x3 and started from the beginning, only to notice that my parts are numbered (e.g., 1, 2, 3, 3A, 3B, etc.) while the parts in the instructions online are lettered (e.g., A, B, C, C1, C2, etc.). Logically, I figured that A=1, B=2, C=3, C1=3A, etc. and continued forward. Then everything went wrong. I proceeded to insert wood dowels and start to put the shelves together, only to find out that the holes didn't line up. I looked ahead and figured out how the different fasteners worked and started to puzzle the shelves together, relying only broadly on the order the pieces are attached to one another. I even had to widen some existing holes using a drill to accommodate dowels. If I didn't have an engineering brain and experience in construction, I would have never figured this out. In the end, it came together and looks good.So in summary, the wrong instructions and could not even find the correct instructions online. If you rely on instructions to be correct to assemble something, this is not the unit for you.

Love the Look, Hated the Assembly!
I love the look of this storage unit, but am pretty sure the assembly of this piece is one of the levels of purgatory!!!! Definitely need at leadt two people to hold pieces together. Some of the cam locks would NOT join the pieces together snugly. Over all, I like it and would buy it again.

Do Not Buy!!
Do not buy this product unless you're a masochist or like reengineering this manufactures crappy design! My wife and I have put together hundreds of RTA products and this was without a doubt one of the absolute worst! It took over three hours to assemble because cam holes didn't line up, cam locks didn't lock and the metal quality of the cams were 💩💩!Again, unless you enjoy spending time torturing yourself do not buy! As for the quality after assembly, two star at best!

Difficult to assemble and hardware very low quality.
Way too costly for quality. Extremely difficult to assemble. Guide holes drilled improperly. Screw heads strip before getting them set into the wood. I am very displeased with this product. I have purchased other cube bookcase for less money of better quality and easy to assemble.

good quality/bad instructions
The instructions for assembly cannot be followed as the uprights, which are free floating inside small pre drilled holes are not secure enough to attach the sides as instructed. We had to wing it with each of the 4 bookcases we bought, as what worked for one bookcaser wouldn't fly for another. Also note that there are no predrilled holes for the backs on the bookcase itself to accomodate the backs. The instructions note that there are holes on each of the 3 back units, but there are no holes on the bookcase itself-36 opportuinities per unit to have a less than perfect result. Customer service was dissappointing. That is a design flaw. The bookcases themselves are pretty and sturdy. Shame that they missed this small step.

I like it!
Good overall, but on the top lefthand size, the prehand drill holes were too deep and caused holes in the outside. Other than that, it is a nice piece for my kids room. Pictures show it just put together.

Excellent purchase - very happy.
Very nice unit - solid wood and well packaged. I found it very easy to assemble; it took me just over an hour. A very nice addition to our entry area of our house. Recommended. Please note that I purchased mine as a "Used - Very Good" item from Warehouse Deals for the steal price of $110. The box had some cosmetic damage and had been refused by the previous buyer. But due to the excellent packaging, there was no damage to the product.

Makes a fantastic record shelf
I bought this bookcase to act as a record shelf, and it was perfect. Sturdily constructed, it can hold all the weight of my entire record collection without issue. Arguably, this shelf is designed for records.
