I love this line of tools! They make more shapes and sizes than any other I've found, are very sharp and ergonomic. Plus- though I've not tried it, you can by the blades with removable handles that can fit in some power tools. They are also just above half the price as other high end carving tools. I use them for printmaking and plaster carving (which beats the f**k out of them, but they hold up really well compared to my other tools)

Very sharp out of the box and great for beginner. Time will tell how it holds up.

I'm relatively new to carving and, some of the more experienced carvers seem to downplay FLEXCUT tools. But, I have to say, they work fine for me. If you strop them to keep the edge sharp, they work just fine. I find the handles on these gouges to be pretty nicely shaped. They may not have a glass smooth finish but, they're reasonably comfortable.I'd recommend these to anyone who doesn't want to spend a lot of money on carving tools.
