Q: For the battery life at max lumens, what does "1150~400lumens / 2+230 minutes" mean?

My understanding is as follows: 1150 lumens for 2 minutes, then it drops to 400 lumens for 230 minutes. This light is thermally protected and gets pretty warm at Max output. Also I’m sure battery life is another reason. I use this light daily and can say I’ve never had any issues with the output dropping. What I mean to say is 3 minutes is probably way longer than you’d ever want to use this light on Turbo. Just buy it and I promise you this’ll be the best decision you’ll ever make. Worth every penny.

Q: How long does it take to fully charge from 0%?

I wrote on January 13, 2021 that I tested the recharge time by almost completely exhausting the battery... but I do not recommend that anyone else do this. Over-discharging any cell/battery, even lithium, can cause detrimental stress to the point of ruination. I advise paying attention to the indicator lights (green, yellow, red) on the flashlight and charge no later than when the red light shows. At this point, the recharge will probably take the 5 hours as quoted by Olight (on June 30, 2020).

Q: Putting all the hype aside, has anyone had switch fails or other types of failure in long-term use?

Only problems I have had with this are that the magnetic bottom tends to attack keys, and that pocket clip can only go on in one direction. Eventually the switch will fail. I've used this particular one and several other Olight products quite a bit. They are mostly good. Only switch issue I had was on a headlamp. It still works, just sometimes it goes to the wrong mode when you hit the button. I've never had an issue with this one, or the version before it.

Q: Are there any upgrades for this version?

THIS is the upgrade. The older one was the S1R. What are you looking for in an upgrade from the S2R? Once you’ve identified e a rly what it is you’re looking for (in an upgrade) then all you have to do is broaden your scope search. There’s hundreds of lights that will meet your needs.
