Heart For Hearts Girls Rahel from Ethiopia Doll

Shamefully I have to admit that I'm an American Girl and Wellie Wisher addict. During the past few years I wouldn't even give another doll brand a second look being convinced that American Girls were the best. Because I make and sell doll clothes for fun, I wanted to be sure my Wellie Wisher clothes would fit similarly-sized dolls. After combing the internet, I came across these Hearts for Hearts Girls. I ordered Dell and received her today. Quite frankly, I am blown away by her beauty. Her hair was kinked due to the way she was packaged, so I took a chance on setting my curling iron to the lowest setting to get the creases out of her hair and it turned out beautifully.In my attached photo, I have her standing next to AG's Willa and as you can see, she is just as beautiful as Willa (if not a little prettier in my opinion). Her hair is rooted and can look a little sparse if not styled right, but since I've noticed a huge decline in the quality of the AG hair with my last few purchases, I won't knock off points for that. In fact, as I compare these two dolls, I can see no justification for the Wellie Wisher dolls costing between 40 and 50 percent more than this doll.I love this doll so much that I've already ordered another Hearts for Hearts Girl (Rahel). I would highly recommend her to anyone.

Nahji is even more beautiful in person than in her photos. I am an adult collector. Her earrings come out and can be replaced. The pearl part is separate from the dangle (the dangle is cheap looking). Her dress is a soft knit and good quality, it velcros in the back. Her leggings are also nice with a printed pattern on them, they slide on and off. She does not wear underwear. Her head band is attached with a thread, like the dangles and bangles are also cheap looking (appropriate for a child, something I will replace). For now I've left the clear plastic bands that keep her shoes from coming off of her feet in transit. They are made of a rubber and fasten at the back. Her choker comes off and is somehow attached to her top. I had to snip a thread to separate it from her dress. Her hair is super soft with the scalp beneath it painted dark. I've attached a photo.I've now added Rahel to my collection. Like Nahji, she is more beautiful in person than in her photo. I like her jewelry better. One thing to be aware of, her necklaces are not actual beads, although they do like them them. If you want to remove them, they have to be cut. I left the dangles on her earrings as they are quite pretty. Her plastic bracelets are rubbery so they can be rolled off her hand (although it might be harder for a child to take them off or put them on). Her outfit is quite stunning and well made. Her top is a bodysuit. her shoes are sandals without backs so the attachment bands will stay on until I make her new shoes.

Look, I'm a man's man okay, but once in awhile I go incognito here on Amazon for my lovely wife. She's been very sad and frustrated lately, due to so many traumatic things happening in the world all at once. And I've been missing her wonderful smiles I'm used to getting from her daily. So I decided to get something that reminded her of herself at a young age. And this doll reminds me of our daughter, who died at such a young age...it was only right that I get the closest representation of our traumatic past and make those things which once destroyed us, uplift us as one. When I handed her the doll, she began to ball because she knew immediately what this doll represented. She played with her for hours and I joined in as well because it was US, a mother's love a father's protection we once had for the child we lost many years ago. This allows us to have another chance at being a family, and US, living with past heart broken memories, we turned it into our family is back together again, even in tough times, we still have one another. I miss you so much daughter..daddy and mommy loves you eternally and we finally found you again, in the spirit of this beautiful doll. May you Rest In Paradise in the arms of The Eternal One honey. I really wanted this doll for a long time. This is the newer version of Lauryce. I think she has the prettiest eyes and most natural skin tone. I really wanted them all but I don't have enough room to collect every single one of them. Her hair is naturally wavy and blonde too. The hair feels like real hair to me.One of the features that I like is the newer glass eyes. The date of the doll's creation is stamped on the bottom of her feet. I had to pre-order her to get this new wave of Hearts for Hearts doll. I was so surprised to find her waiting for me outside my door.The next feature I really love is the jointed head, which can look up, down and side-to-side. She doesn't bend her knees or elbow or ankles or wrists but she is ball-jointed and strung on elastic. The poses are cute and childlike.Her box came with magnetic closures and is also very nice. She was a survivor of hurricane Katrina. Her story really melted my heart.She also came with an outfit, jewelry, shoes and the usual doll comb.

Purchased this Rahel from Ethiopia doll for my daughter and she loves it! First, the quality is so much better than I expected. The doll is made from a softer plastic so the body/limbs are flexible. The limbs are also held together by a stretchy string so they have a full range of motion. The necklace is not made from beads, it is a solid ring of plastic with indents on it. Her clothes are the best quality I have seen on a doll (given my limited experience). This doll is just gorgeous. I purchased it for my 1 year old who has been obsessed with dolls lately. After removing the small parts and bracelets it became more age appropriate. This will be a toy she will have for years! I will absolutely be purchasing Najel (from India) in the near future.
