Very nice e-reader for the price. Recommended for basic reading.
I really like this e-reader. I don't mind the resolution (some people think it is too low-res for good reading, but I haven't had an issue with it), it is light enough to be comfortable holding with one hand for extended periods (granted I have large hands so it fits my hands well), and the OS/GUI is easy to use. The online book library/sync is easy and reliable. Battery life is great. Backlight is nice. I also really like the physical navigation buttons (power on/off, page forward, page back, and home). The larger screen size is awesome. Sometimes, highlighting text can be cumbersome, so this would not be ideal if you want a ready for frequent/intense note-taking and annotating. For basic reading and some highlighting/bookmarking, this is great. Overall, it's a very nice package. It would be top-notch with a higher resolution display, but it is also fine as it is.

Pocketbook Inkpad Lite - Love it!
My Likebook Mars Android e-reader stopped charging after 4+ years of regular use and this Pocketbook Inkpad Lite was bought as a replacement.Pros:-9.7" screen. The resolution on this is lower than most other modern e-readers at just 150 ppi which concerned me when ordering but it's fine for reading books. I first bought an e-reader due to my eyesight getting to the point where I couldn't read small paperback text without reading glasses and I can read everything fine on this screen and can't tell a difference between the quality when reading epub books on this screen vs the quality of the 300 ppi screen on my old Likebook.-It boots quickly. It did seem to hang a bit on first boot, but that was due to it organizing all of the ebooks on my memory card- mostly in epub format - on first boot.-Has a microSD card slot, which made it easy to move all my books from my old e-reader to this one.-OS easy to figure out and change settings to my preferences. Can set font and font size for use with all of your books vs my Lifebook where you had to set it on a book by book basis. Didn't like some of the default settings - especially where you touched the screen to turn back a page - and was easily able to change to my liking.-USB-c charging. Nice being able to charge with same cable/charger as most of my other newer devices.-Backlight works well to see all text in the dark and can be adjusted to your personal preferences.-Cover - bought seperately - can close cover to put it to sleep.Neutral:-Physical buttons that can be used to turn the pages. Nice feature I guess, but still find it easier to just touch the screen. Do like where the power on button is compared to my old Likebook where that button was on the bottom and I would frequently turn it off by mistake - not an issue with this Pocketbook.-Not as customizable as Andriod e-reader. But 99% of my use on my Android e-reader was reading books in epub format and this works great for that.-Changing the defaults seems to take a few minutes to register. Thought at first my changes weren't being registered but they were.Summary:This is the 5th ereader that I've owned and so far it's far and away my favorite. It boots quickly, I love the size, and its easy to navigate. It may not have some of the features of some others, but it works great for reading books in epub format, which is what makes up the majority of my e-library.

Screen defect
The packaging was poor. Which resulted in the bottom part of the screan to be faded. However, I need this for studying and keeping track of documents. I should have learned my lesson with Amazon by now. In the future I won't spend more than 100usd. Its not worth the frustration.

Bad Quality. Came WITHOUT A BATTERY INSTALLED!!!
I wish I could give it less stars. Not only is it terrible build quality, but it actually came without a battery installed. I wish I was kidding. At first I was confused because it would only turn on when connected to a charger, so I left it to charge overnight. Then I noticed that the back of the device was very easily able to be pushed in, as if empty space was in there. So I took it apart, and, lo and behold, there was no battery. I opened it past the return period so I cannot even return this piece of junk. Save your money, buy a Kobo instead-that's what I did after this fiasco, and have zero complaints, other than there software lacking a dark mode. But, at least the device came with a battery. I will not be making that mistake again.

KINDLE KILLER: THIS PRODUCT BROUGHT ABOUT MY EPAPER/EBOOK REVOLUTION!!!
Whoever designed this and engineered it was a pure genius! All the other ereaders are ok but this be perfect combination of sum of parts brought about my digital ebook revolution. I have already bought 4 for myself and plan to buy more as soon as they come down in price. I call it my digital bible and carry it everywhere with me preloaded with my various religious books/texts. Keep one unit in car, one in bed, wish it was waterproof to use in the gym/sauna.I prefer the low resolution screen. I also like the $165 price, wish it goes to $99 in future. I love it soo much I got rid of my Kindle Paperwhite and Kindle Scribe, The Kindle Killer. The Pocketbook OS is vastly superior to Kindle, which always felt unprofessional with chinese/japanese fonts and NO customer support. The firmware updates bring further improvements and linux makes this rock solid. In the process of digitizing my $50k personal book collection for use on this device. My entire basement will be empty to use instead of cluttered with books. I don't miss paper anymore with the temperature control option. If you are on the fence and prefer larger sized fonts this delivers. I have never seen a pixel yet and I am a computer engineer. This makes the perfect gift.

Table of contents not working
I have several books in ePub format that my smaller Kobo reads just fine. This reader will not read the table of contents properly. It shows all pages as zeroes and will not go to the page of the story selected. Too bad because I like the size and clarity of it so I gave it two stars anyway. If you plan to use it for some other format perhaps it will work for you. Happy Day!
