Wild ride, but this thing is LEGIT.
Hold onto your horses, this fly trap is NO JOKE. I don't know what changed in the past few months but the flies have been a NIGHTMARE. After the 246,712th fly crashed into my body for no dang reason I started casually googling looking for traps. The weather changed a bit, maybe it'll die down with how bad they are.... Fast forward a week after reading reviews and not only did one of these jerks land and die in my vodkacran, but THREE at one time. Well, as you can imagine, This Mama has had ENOUGH. I found this Magic Eff Off Fly Trap that you see here and Hooo Boy does it work. If you look at the pictures, that black line on the jug is little fly carcasses and I have ZERO REGERTS! No regrets whatsoever, I may just tattoo that somewhere. But I digress. The trap uses petrified eggs to bait them so when it says OUTDOOR it means it. It's got a potent smell that I fussed st my dog for passing gas near me more than a couple times by mistake when I first set it up, so make sure to place it where the smell won't carry into the house. If you look at the video, you can see flies trapped inside and others excitedly meandering their way inside slowly. Clearly the outcries of their brethren mean nothing to them, because they each in turn dove right in. I love this thing, totally worth the $ and it IS reusable once it's full. Mind you. We've only started using this, it's been outside a week AND through a short cold front. Definitely recommend and will be purchasing more!!

Stinky and does catch flies!
It has a bad odor but I guess that’s what catches the flies. It does do that no question! If you are downwind and catch a whiff it is just a harsh and strong smell. Worked well for our deck.

It worked TOO well and caused more of a problem.
Ok so I'm not sure how to rank this. Here's why: It did EXACTLY what it was supposed to BUT too much so! We had SOME flys in our yard and I thought it would be a great solution to get rid of them. The day I put it out, there was a horrible smell so we moved it further away from our house and it STILL stunk. I get it though, necessary evil... the next day our fly problem went from moderate to BAD. Flys from a mile away were being attracted to the stench. We would check the container and it was catching them so we left it out. A week later the fly situation went from BAD to HORRIBLE. Although it WAS catching many, it was attracting more. After 2 weeks (I believe it was supposed to be good for about a month) we decided enough was enough and went to empty it. I should have emptied it probably a week in... my bad?... Looking at the photo you will notice that the flys werent just being caught, but breeding IN the trap and maggots were EVERYWHERE. They were also escaping from the trap and we now have far worse of a fly problem than when we started:( 4 stars because it worked too damn well!

Kills a lot of flies
This is my first time ever using a fly trap and it kills them very well and I can’t believe how many were in the jar. It was like half filled with dead flies.

This actually worked!
These things actually work. SMELL - Yes it smells terrible. The point is to attract flies, and flies like dead things which is what this smells like (You only notice if you are in close proximity and the wind blows just right). The trick is to place it AWAY from the picnic table and AWAY from the door to your house. When placed in a well ventilated area away from where you plan to congregate you will not notice the smell, but the flies will, and they will be drawn to the trap. I put one in the chicken coop and within a couple of days I had 1 inch of flies floating in the bottle. I placed one about 4-5 yards from the house and the flies were drawn to that bottle as well. I am now on my second refill. MESSY RE-USE - While the re-use is cost effective, it is a messy job. (I dug a hole, poured the mess in and buried it.) The smell lingers in the bottle until rinsed out (using the garden hose, away from the house), but then you are right back in business. MAGGOTS - This does not happen if used correctly. If allowed to dry out or become so infested with flies they begin to create their own mulch then of course you have a breeding ground for maggots. HOWEVER, if emptied before you reach that point you will not have that problem. FLIES FLYING BACK OUT OF THE BOTTLE - There will be a few flies flying out of the bottle once in a while. BUT when the bottle has 2-3 inches of flies floating in water, I would say you made a bit of a dent in your fly population.

CATCH THE MOST FLIES
Got this trap and at first it was not working. I tried everything to get flies to enter the trap with almost 0% success. Okay hear me out. You gotta get a fresh dog poo and put that stinky log in the trap. Boom! All the flies were inside the trap next day! Then came how to kill the flies since they weren't dying in the trap. I didn't want to put in in my freezer or microwave due to the poo. I noticed that by sitting in the trap the poo had become rock hard so instinctively I started rolling it around inside the trap smashing up all the flies like the boulder from the temple of doom! After some shaking all of the flies are smooshed and I can open the trap and pour the fly bodies out for my chickens! A++ this thing works!

Excelente excelente producto dentro del bote hay un cementerio de moscas. Las atrae el olor. Lo puse en la terraza y no entran a la casa. Súper recomendable

Queensland Australia, Christmas time. Clouds of flies! This year we bought 2 of these fly traps and they worked beyond expectation, putting a sizeable dent in the local population. House flies, blow flies & horse flies, all of them flew willingly to their deaths by droves. Great product.

The first day or two it did not catch any flies. At this point it also smelled neutral. Then for the next two weeks; hundreds, if not thousands of flies were trapped. It is excellent at attracting and catching flies. The only downside is after 2-3 weeks the smell was terrible within about 20 meters and we had to empty and refill. So in short, it’s great at catching flies, and if you’re happy buying a refill every 2-3 weeks to avoid the awful smell, it’s perfect.
