Simply put, this is a 10/10 traveling chess board, and the traveling bag is incredible as well. If you’re on the fence, just buy this one. You won’t regret it.Chess is on of my things, I play literally all the time. I have a board for at home (a nice FIDE approved wooden one), a small board I always keep in my car in case a situation arises and someone wants the smoke (more common than you’d think), a magnetic board for flights/car rides, a 4-person chess board for when a sprinkle chaos is needed, and now this board for traveling/tournaments. And this might be my favorite out of all of them.I play in USCF and FIDE tournaments (OTB) pretty frequently and this is the exact board a lot of them use (I’d recommend the 20” board). The weighted pieces feel amazing to move and they have great traction so they don’t slip around, and it even comes with an extra queen for each color (for when you promote a pawn or play an imbalanced game and want to give your opponent an extra queen instead of a bishop or something).The bag is high quality and the design is great. My 4-person chess board has a bag but it’s not nearly as nice as this, since this has separate compartments for the board and pieces (so the pieces don’t leave indentations on the board).Couldn’t be happier with the purchase. Highly recommend, regardless of the skill level of the user.The board does have a hard time staying flat at the edges, but this is a common theme for all “cloth” boards. It’s not something this company’s board struggles with anymore than the next company’s. Because the boards stay rolled when they aren’t being used, it’s natural for them to curl when they’re unrolled. It’s not a problem, it’s a characteristic of these type of boards. The weighted pieces help hold it down and it doesn’t affect the game play whatsoever.

Cool set! Love the weight and design of the pieces. Board and carrying bag are perfect. I did receive some damaged/scuffed pieces which was very disappointing bc it was very hard to get product support from Chess Armory for a replacement set. I went thru the recommended channel by Amazon first and contacted Chess Armory. After not receiving a replacement set after 2 weeks I contacted Amazon and they sent me a whole replacement set the same day. Great travel set though!!

Love this chess set. feels like i’m back in highschool and playing with my friends. Super nice quality matt and the chess pieces are solid feeling. Very happy with this purchase.

The mat still isn't flat after multiple uses of the board. The pieces were well detailed.

PROS* The vinyl mat is much lighter than mousepad boards* The vinyl mat is very easy to clean* The pieces are weighted nicely and the felt bottoms are glued in place well.* The travel case has separate compartments for the board and pieces. Also included is a carry strap.CONS:* The vinyl mat does not lay perfectly flat right away. The ripples will flatten out as you play but may not be as flat as a mousepad board. (This can be helped a little with how the board is rolled up and stored.)* I had a white few pieces arrive with black smudge marks. Customer service was very helpful with my complaint (more info below).OVERALL, I am pleased with this company and their chess set. Some may care that the mat and pieces are not pure white and the squares are green. For the price and quality, this set was perfect.I did have a few pieces arrive with black smudge marks. I sent photos to Chess Armory via Facebook and email. I received a response in less than 24 hours. The company was apologetic and sent me an order form immediately to replace the pieces. They arrived in a couple weeks and are perfect.

As of now I do not have any dislikes. I am fairly new to Chess and this set helps to study your moves with the Markings on the edge. Very sturdy and easy to carry for travel. I took my pieces out of the separate bags to help close the zippers. I’ve met other players that have played for years and they have the exact same set. Everyone else likes them as well. Highly recommended for a Beginner like myself or someone of longer/higher level that wants a nice set to travel with.

This is perfect! Great quality forsure. My son loves to slide this right into his backpack for school study halls, and have handy at the Rec center

The chess set is convenient for travel even if it is just to the park to challenge other chess players! The case is well made and the pieces are sturdy but not heavy. It is a great buy!
