So much information
There is so much information in this book (and the other two). You could learn a lot by just going page to page, reading up about a technique and then going out and trying it out on your own. I'm learning about film-making as a hobby and so I am not willing to go spend 50k on film school, so these books are a big help on cinematography. I wish the pictures were color or at the least a bit better quality, but they do their job. Also, I feel the three books should have just been made into one and have been offered for much less than it cost to acquire the three separately. That is my only gripe, that separating them and pricing them so high is a bit of a money grab.

This Book is Pure Gold
This book is Gold. I’m not even half way done with this book and I already feel like I’m cheating. If you need your creative ignition sparked, this book will do it for you. It’s great for Directors, cinematographers, DP’s and even story boarders. It gives you a creative in depth explaintion of the best shots of great films, if you’re a person who’s a Visual learner, this will definitely keep you reading because you can picture the information the Author is telling you in your head without even looking at the pictures. I am definitely a fan of this book.

Helpful series for the film maker
As a budding film maker I find this to be an excellent book. I was expecting that volume three would disappoint. It does not. All three volumes are different from each other. I really like the way the author translates the camera work to the feelings imparted into the viewing audience.Highly recommended.

Good for Live action OR Animation
All these Master Shot books are a little different from each other. This one is great in its own way. I definitely suggest getting all three for live action OR animation people.

Excellent!
I haven't finished it yet but this book reenforces my film making knowledge. This volume in particular is one that any budding filmmaker should pick up if they want to get a little more advanced, HOWEVER.. When it comes to making films the best way to learn is by going out and doing it. You can read 100 books on the subject but if you don't go out and do it, all that knowledge is wasted.

Worth your time Vol. 3
An excellent reference and information source to add to your arsenal. I also had a fantastic customer service experience with a slight defect in my copy and got a replacement right away.
