Now, is a great time to get into FPV
I'm so happy I have this to learn on, since before the '16 holidays, if you wanted to get into fpv, you were stuck with the little toy drones or having to pay big $$ for a hobby shop to peice together something, usually costing an arm and a leg to do. Since, there was no real, viable option on the market, for some one who wants to "ligitamatly" learn to pilot a race quad, this quad fills that duty nicely. It has 3 modes that allow you to hone your skills and is durable enough to hang with you as you improve them. Once you get better, you can advance the "level of flight" meaning its ability to maneuver at a greater speed. Once you have mastered the ability to fly this quad at its highest setting, you can then begin to re-learn flying in FPV mode with the included monitor sitting atop the remote. (Note: this kit doesn't come with a charger for the FPV monitor, however it's a micro-USB and most of us have those lying around anyway.) If that's not enough growth for a quad to have for you, you still have the FPV goggle configuration to, once again "re-re-learn" how to fly, now completely immersed in FPV. If you don't comprehend how much time and money this used to take to achieve, let me explain. You would have to piece together every component of a set up, then configure it all. This usually ran about $600 on the cheap side and a lot of time, unless you were already into the hobby and could do all of the binding and connecting yourself. Not with this! This thing comes all ready to go, all you have to do is learn to fly it. Trust me, this is a HUGE deal to have this luxury. And this quad is a tank, I've crashed it over and over as I learned, and have yet to even break a prop, (though I'm sure my day is coming). Even if I do, the arms are removable and $30 each, big deal. The only caviet is, you can't configure or tinker with its flight control, but who cares, your not supposed to, your supposed to learn and have fun flying it. Worry about tuning and modding later when you can actually fly these things!!!Now get out there and have some fun!P.S. YouTube is a great tool to find out more about how to learn to fly and what to do if your a Newb like me ;)Update: So after 6 moths of flying, I have moved on to more advanced equipment. This quad really helped my skill level increase. Through all of my learning, I've crashed multiple times and it never, not once broke. The only thing I've had to replace are a few props. I ended up selling it to a newbie for near full price. It really has met my expectations, and now someone else will get to enjoy it. I don't think I would have gained as much experience in such a short time if I had not gotten the Rise. I recommend this to anyone looking to get into this sport/hobby.

The Good: Out of the box it works
I didn't receive anything for the following review. The Good:Out of the box it does work. The on board internal camera is decent and recorded video is view-able. The external camera is 640x480 resolution which would seem to be enough. Control is solid. Feels slightly under powered but still a good flier. Fun to fly via line of sight. The Bad:1. The monitor. At only 480 x 272 resolution, it's not adequate for FPV. There is a lot of flickering and color changing which makes the monitor unsafe to use except late in the evening at high altitude.(above the trees) At other times you can't see enough detail to effectively avoid obstacles.2. Motors. After just 8 flights the quad suddenly required a lot of yaw trim to maintain heading. I also noticed a change in the sound (higher pitch) of the quad in flight. I did an inspection and found the rear "A2" motor was binding. I flew it once more then ordered a replacement rear arm/motor. I Installed the replacement arm, re-centered yaw trim and all was good for 3 flights. Then as before, it suddenly required a lot of yaw trim and noticed a change in the sound. Now the the rear "B2" motor is binding. By binding I mean the motor no longer turns freely. Conclusion: If this kit had higher quality components and a 640 x 480 resolution monitor to match the quad's external camera resolution it would have indeed been the breakthrough starter FPV that Vusion claimed it was. In that case I would recommend it. I would have even spent a bit more. But they cut corners used cheap motors and a monitor that's basically useless which leaves you wishing you had spent fifty dollars more and bought a Phantom 2 or something similar of higher quality. One YouTube video referred to this kit as 'hobby grade'. I'm sorry to report its not. Its an expensive toy that was effectively marketed as hobby grade and I fell for the hype. I gave it two stars because If you buy this quad for a good line of sight flyer you'll be happy as long as the motors and your money lasts. If its FPV you want I recommend you keep saving until you can afford a hobby grade setup. This kit will not provide the FPV experience you seek.Update 3/26/17 - Forgot to mention that video recorded on either the quad or the monitor will not play back on Windows 10.

I like this drone
I like this drone... I've crashed this thing HARD on day 1 and it just keeps on going. I still don't know how to fly it well, but now have the confidence to press my limits...

You better know what you're doing before you fly this one
I love the Drone but if you're new at flying drones this one is not for you. I'm in intermediate drone flyer and it's still very hard to fly this drone with any kind of control.

New in the box- WAS USED
I just received the drone. The box was open. It look like it was used. The instruction papers were loose and there were some fingerprints on the camera.

Great for Sports Flying
I really like how this quad is made for the first-time fpv pilot. Though not as durable as a carbon fiber frame, it is supported by Tower Hobbies for spare parts.

Great kit for the beginner looking to try out FPV
I am new to FPV flying so I was looking for a quad that was ready to fly with everything needed included in the box.
