the built-in screen protector is just plastic, creates the rainbow effect, and it's not smooth. i dont see how it's going to protect your screen from breaking, maybe only for scratches. so if u already have a screen protector, don't remove it. i didn't remove mine and put on the built-in screen protector of this case. i dont know if that's the cause of the rainbow effect, but im glad i kept my current screen protector. i ended up removing the SP that the case came with and now it looks and feels better. really cute case, looks sturdy as it made my phone bigger. i wont try throwing my phone just to test its durability. perfect for iphone 13

Case was cracked when we got it out the box, it was minor crack so we kept it.. the case looks beautiful visually
