Iron Maiden's historic Somewhere Back in Time World Tour in February and March of 2008, is considered to be the most ambitious and adventurous tour in Rock history. Circumnavigating the globe in just 45 days, the band flew in a specially customized Boeing 757 airliner, piloted by lead singer Bruce Dickinson, with the entire tour crew and 12 tons of music and stage equipment on board, to 23 sold out stadium and arena shows in Asia, Australia and North, Central and South America. Flight 666 gives a close up inside the scenes look at what happened on and off stage, when Maiden gave full access to a film crew for the first time ever, and contains some of the most spectacular live footage yet seen of Maiden. Taking you from Mumbai to Santiago, LA to Sydney, Tokyo to San Paolo, Buenos Aires to Toronto and all points between, through exhaustion and fan pandemonium, travelling with band and crew on the plane, to and from shows, in the bar and during leisure time, this really is Access All Areas.

Decent movie - SPOILER ALERT
This is a decent movie considering it was pretty low budget and not very well advertized. It was believable (unlike some movies on airplanes where you can tell it's greenscreen). It was an intriguing story - and I don't even like ghost movies. It had a dark ending but you could almost relate to the fear and snappishness the passengers are experiencing as they going through that maelstrom of a haunted nature. Props to the cast for some really believable acting.

An entertaining popcorn flick of an airplane horror
Warning, this is one of those The Asylum films so don't expect much. That being said, it was entertaining and the effects are a little better than the usual Asylum fare but it is still a haunted airplane movie. I was expecting too much for the movie to try something new but it was interesting and claustrophobic and the ending is a bit rushed. The first half is what passes as character development for Asylum. Don't expect a lot of gore and the movie stuck with mostly makeup effects. The body count is really low for a horror (one person not counting the blurry death(s) during the opening credits).

This band LOVES what they do and it shows
I have to say this band really knows how to put out quality DVDs for us fans. 'The Early Years' and 'Live After Death/The Early Years Pt. 2' are one of the best DVDs by a rock band ever released - even Kiss(another huge favorite of mine). Both DVDs have a ton of concert and documentary footage on 2 discs each as well as pictures, easter eggs, rare footage, etc. It's virtually impossible for any Maiden fan to be dissapointed. Although I would have to say getting through all the english accents is a challenge to my American ears. Thank God for closed-caption.Now comes Flight 666. It is very high quality just like their previous DVDs. The thing that struck me the most after watching it was how much fun they have on tour and how much they love what they are doing and thats a fun thing to watch. Nicko McBrain is funny and good natured(as I'm sure Maiden fans already know) and is never seen in a bad mood or even a little tired anywhere on this documentary. The crew seem to enjoy what they do and flash hand signals and sign language to each other from across the stage in accordance to the lyrics of whatever song Bruce is singing while on stage. Its fun to see the band ham it up while on the plane going to a show('so much for sleeping' manager Rod Smallwood says), seeing the extreme hysteria of fans in every country(think BEATLEMANIA x10 is the best way I can describe it. Even the band is a little freaked at times and laughing over it). One fan is shown in tears and crossing his chest and looking to the sky thanking God that he is at a Maiden show and holding one of Nicko's drumsticks(it's a fairly long moment so we the viewer can realise his reaction) or signing hundreds and hundreds of photos while on the plane(and pushing each picture off the seat tray and seeing hundreds of the pictures in one big messy pile on the floor and Steve's son George collecting them or talking to Steve Harris' 4 kids or seeing what the band do on their days off(Nicko & Dave play golf, Adrian comically gets smacked in the forehead and gets his hat knocked off by a pro-tennis players fast serve causing the camera man to say 'thats in the movie!', etc). The concert segments are really good. Again, the band look like they are having the best time of their lives - not an easy thing to do I would think after nearly 30 years. I was surprised they didn't do 'Flight of Icarus' or 'Where Eagles Dare', 2 standout songs from the era of songs they are performing. The packaging is great. Its the size of regular DVD case except that it is more like a hardback book with pages of a diary Bruce did for a rock magazine as well as pictures. The very back of the book-like package has the 2 DVDs one halfway over the other to save room but very safe from scratching.Great band. Great DVD. If you like their past DVDs then this one is a no brainer. They are really good to their fans when it comes to home videos/dvds. BUY IT.

Builds tension, unexpected conclusion. Worth watching.
Minor actors who perform like stars in a fairly well written horror movie that is done well in terms of production for a ‘90s horror movie. You know, it’s not a skill to make unlimited money to look good in any part of one’s life, including movies, and the real skill is to make a little be a lot. This movie does that.I think it ranks between a 3 & a 4 - but really, again with the less than ideal lighting and colours, this is a movie that builds tension to an interesting conclusion, and is worth watching.

Not an A-list movie but a terrific B movie
If I had paid $15 plus another $20 in concessions to see this in the theater, I would have been upset. But as a B-movie that I watched for free on a rainy Tuesday night, I had a terrific time. And the big reveal at the end was worthy of any movie I've seen for quite a while!!! I seriously did not see it coming and the director pulled it off extremely well! I definitely recommend watching this movie but wait until nighttime and turn off all the lights in the house. You'll thank me later.
