1-2-3 Magic Workbook: Effective Discipline for Children 2-12 Paperback – January 1, 2011

This book is excellent for providing positive parenting

Great book. Some may think the approach is to passive but it all depends the way the parent feels most comfortable in disciplining their children and the child. Every child has a different personality so therefore our approach in discipline with each child should be different as well. This method currently works with my 4 year old. As he grows methods may change but who knows. I would recommend this book to anyone!

Specifically for the workbook, I believe it is more useful to people teaching the program so you can "assign homework" for parents to try the techniques.I use this workbook in my job while working with families that are referred to my program through Child Protective Services. There are a lot of good follow up ways to use the tips from the book, in this workbook. If you stay consistent, the tips and techniques work. But...if you start doing your own thing, or change up the way 1, 2, 3 magic says to do things, you may get less than satisfactory results. The only part of the program I do not necessarily agree with is the part about not talking to the child after they get out of time-out, lecturing after time out, No!...but talking about or reiterating what you want them to do the next time, Yes! Don't dwell on the negative but remind them to do the positive.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who is raising children that are difficult. I was beside myself trying to figure out which discipline techinque to use. This book was recommended to me by a child theripist and I am very happy I bought it. It has been the best book to help me with my grandaughter who lives with me. She has responded nicely to it.

Not what I expected. Goes along with the regular book, but it cannot be read alone. All it has are question and blank spaces for answers.

Even die hard older parents can learn new tricks! This has been an awesome tool for us as parents and for our children. Highly recommend it in conjunction with the original book and the 1-2-3 Magic for the kids. It has changed our family for the best!

This is by far the best child rearing book that I have ever laid my eyes on. I used to teach RCB and love the methods as well, however, I have never experienced anything working so quickly and effectively in my life; Order this book asap

Look forward to using this method, While waiting at the Doctors office observed behavior and told them get this book ASAP. I did read it, before giving to totally help, when visiting be on same page. Now months later parents haven't even read or started, because they need discipline first..

Great parenting tool, I have used this programme for my son with ADHD, he is now 17, He was 7 when I first starded using 123 M, Now we can laugh when I count him but it still works!!!

We have noticed a massive improvement with this technique! Helps me keep calm and my 2yr old knows wot to expect :-) thank you

This book is so superficial you would think it avoids the subject of Effective Discipline for Children... I wish I had checked as I realized it is American so it explains a lot now. I cannot bear another page!!!
