I mostly put it in the dishwasher. I use it for bananas when I make banana bread and for mashed potatoes. It is easy and comfortable to hold and use. Also the price was great. Works just as it should. This is replacing a plastic masher I had that was less than perfect. This is fantastic putting the finishing touch on crushed tomatoes for making red sauce as well as roughly mashing potatos.
