Monks Cloth Needlework Fabric for Punch Needle Rug Making (2 by 1 Yard)

I am trying to use this fabric for Swedish weaving. I won’t be able to use 4ply yarn as it is to heavy. My thought is to use embroidery thread as the warp is to fine for regular weaving. It is of great quality and cut pretty straight.

This is as indicated in the product description. I used it for punch needle embroidered pillows. Works fine!

I bought this for punch needle embroidery and am sad to say when I punch the cloth it breaks the strands. I don’t think that is supposed to happen. It didn’t happen on another piece of monk cloth I have. I will keep trying since I can’t really return it with holes in it.

Overall the quality of this monks cloth is great. However, it was less than the 2yds promised, and further it had an unusable selvage at each end, making it even shorter for my intended use. I must add that it was wider than the 1 yd described in the ad. But...and this is a bit but, the width was not what I needed. I needed the overall length described in the listing in order for it to work for my punch needle project. I will use the cloth, rather than return it, because it can still work for smaller projects. But it was not what I bargained for when I read the description and punched add to cart.

This doesn't work well with a tufting gun but did fine for a manual punch needling tool. My gun ripped the fabric any way i tried it. I won’t buy more. Also the fabric pens that came with it will bleed on to your yarn! If you draw on the fabric and then punch yarn through it will color the yarn. Yes i waited a few min to let the ink ‘dry’, didnt matter how long i waited it bled every time so i wouldnt suggest using the pens at all.

Works good but it unravels very easily. I started gluing the ends of the projects I work on so it doesn't come undone.

Arrived quickly and well packaged. Decent price and quality

Same manufacturer, identical packaging and yet way more product in the ibe purchased invthe States!?
