As advertised this is for a small room only because it hardly can remove any moisture from the air. It is quiet for a dehumidifier as the only noise is the fan motor. There is no compressor like what is used in bigger units. It uses a thermoelectric device to chill the air. The equivalency is like placing a glass of ice water on the counter and you get the moisture from the air condensing on the glass. Very little moisture is removed from the air but it does work.It comes with a remote control. The remote will control the light and fan speed. The unit itself only has an on/off button so you HAVE to use the remote to operate the unit. Try not to loose it.So far I have been running this unit in the bathroom and have not filled the container. The most water removed is about 4 ounces in about 3 weeks time period. A normal size dehumidifier usually has the capacity to remove over a gallon within 24 hours, depending on the humidity level in the house. For a bathroom, I would have expected a lot more moisture removed.I can not recommend this product.

If you bought one of these and it removed moisture from your home, good for you. You got one that actually worked. Ours however simply heated the room 2 degrees. We placed this in a bedroom that is approximately 230 sqft, well below the rated capacity of the device. The starting humidity in the room was 54% and the temp was 75F. We let the device run for four hours. After 4 hours, the room temp was 77F, the humidity was 54% and the reservoir contained a less than a teaspoon of water. This is not a dehumidifier, its a low efficiency room warmer. I initiated the return this morning, packed it up and will be dropping it off at UPS this afternoon.Bottom line is if you want to dehumidify a room, there are better ways than with with device.

I have this in a very small enclosed space. The humidity has hovered around 63 percent. There is no humidity setting on the machine. There's no read out or anything indicating if it's even working. The air coming out of the machine is cold, when usually other humidifiers are warm air.I'm very disappointed in this machine. I hate sending stuff back, but it's not doing it's job. I'll give it another day to be sure, but I don't recommend it.UPDATE: I replaced this SEAVON dehumidifier with this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0841TPBKJ from Vivosun. It cost $100 more, but it actually works. You can clearly see in the attached charts what the performance of the Seavon was, compared to the Vivosun which dropped the humidity dramatically in just a couple hours, while this smaller one here barely moved the dial.UPDATE: I'm adding stars here, because the company is responsive and intent on creating good products. They reached out to me to test a larger unit and refunded my money on the one I got. That means a lot to me. Customer service and trying and wanting to do the right thing. They are creating new products and listening to the feedback, so that's really good.

I wasn't sure initially this little guy was going to do what I needed it to do which was to remove moisture from a small storage area. I decided to try it for a week before writing a review. I have emptied the container once. The level of the water it draws from the room is easily visible. Dumping the container is not a problem, it is small, light in weight even when full and the lid on the top of the container helps reduce any spillage that might occur when it is removed from the unit. The light helps see the level of water in the container. While I do hear it as it runs, the level of noise is like a constant fan, you hear it but it is even and soon not disruptive. The fact that it removes the moisture is more important and the level of noise less so. Initially I thought it was creating more heat and waited to see if that feeling would disappear as the level of humidity was controlled. It has, the room doesn't feel hot like it did when the unit was first put into action and now, it feels quite comfortable. The storage room has fabric, batting, foam, xmas supplies, paperwork, all the things one needs to stay humid free. I had used the DampRid in the past and still like that product but this room needed something more aggressive and this dehumidifier is perfect. I wish I had thought to look for it sooner but better late than never.

The dehumidifier works very well for it's size. I was surprised at how small it is, but it works great in my little house.It has two speed settings, high and low, but I only use the high speed. The remote is a nice touch, along with the lighted water level indicator. I hardly notice it's running, and I can see if it needs to be emptied with just a glance.I recommend this if you've got a small house or space to dehumidify.
