Extremely fast and sturdy
The usb drive is blazing fast. It doesn't give any reason to be disappointed.Build: It has a metallic cladding on the outside, making it extremely durable to free falls and rough usage.Speed: It supports USB 3.1, I could see speeds of 390 MB/s and 310 MB/s for read and write respectively, on my MacBook Pro. Any drive not just this one, shows better speeds when there are fewer but big sized files for transfer, like HD videos. On the other hand having a large number of smaller files like txt files of 2 - 200 KB, it tends to give slower read and write speeds. It can't be completely referred to as value for money as the money spent for this value is too much, but then that's the USP of this drive... SPEED.

ABSOLUTELY WORST PERFORMING USB DRIVE!!!
The media could not be loaded. This is the worst performing USB drive I have ever seen. It does reach its claimed speeds but only in sequential read and write and that too some times only. In the attached image of its performance you can see that its random write has speeds in kB/s. Thus in real life, it performs even worse than a USB 2.0 drive. In the attached video, notice that I only copied 200 files of about 62MB and still it took more than 2:30 minutes, this is a net speed of less than 0.4MB/s. In my daily use, I've seen it to pause for a while even when opening folders. Even while deleting files, it takes a lot of time. Before buying I felt confident because it was SanDisk and I already own some of their product. But this was such a disappointment from SanDisk. So when I first observed ridiculously low speeds, I thought something else might be wrong but when I seriously tested it on different PC, laptop and OS, I realized that its performance is actually terrible. However, by the time I realized it was too late to return it.I had bought a 256GB version and it is a completely useless product for me now. At such a high price of ~5000 INR, I would have been better with a portable ssd instead. I totally regret buying this and won't be buying anything from SanDisk until I see some positive response from them. And if they really care about their brand names they must recall all the usb drives they sold of this model.

Almost reaching closer to rated speeds. But not quite.
After owning Sandisk Extreme 64GB USB 3 drive for last 3 years, buying this 256 GB version with improved read/write speeds is a no brainer.Testbed: Intel 6700K, ASUS Maximus IX Z270 Hero, 16 GB RAMInternal SSD: Samsung 950 Pro NVMe M.2 drive to avoid speed bottlenecksTested port: USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A 10Gbps port powered by ASMedia controller.Extreme Pro 256 GB was formatted to NTFS file system with default allocation size.Crystal DiskMark synthetic benchmarkSequential speed:Write speed: 400 MBPSRead speed: 427 MBPSSequential speed tested in Windows 10 file copy (real world performance)Write speed: 323 MBPSRead speed: 421 MBPSAs you can see, the synthetic benchmarks deliver the rated performance. But in real world scenario, write speed falls short by around 60 MBPS. But still this one is one of the fastest USB based flash drive. If you use USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A 5 Gbps port (formerly USB 3.0 port), then you may see slightly reduced speeds. But I would still recommend this drive if you can get past the insane price. That is why one star reduced for lower than advertised write speed as well as high price.Enjoy the speed test photos.

Product Marketing Wrongly but Nice Product
You have seen 240mb write speed 400 mb read speed but this is not for 64 or 128gb varient pendrives this is for only 256gb varient... I bought 64gb so on my product they mentioned 100mb write speed and 395mb read speed and I researched on it and found that 128gb varient also 395mb read speed and 180mb write speed.. so on my laptop i5 6th gen old but i added a sata ssd Samsung 860 evo 500gb so ssd to my 64gb pendrive file trasfaring highest 95mbps write speed normally 60-85mbps Most of the time arround 80 and pendrive to my ssd 250-380mbps read speed most of the time arround upto 300... pendrive speed good enough but mentioned speed Wrongly marketing strategy.. i bought it 1600 soo I don't regards because on this price it's very good quality Product

Blazing fast and one of the best USB flash drives in 2023
I already possess a 64GB Sandisk Extreme USB flash drive that is really fast and works extremely well. This 256GB Extreme Pro USB flash drive is just as good (if not slightly better in performance) and one of the fastest USB flash drives in the market today. The only difference is that the Extreme looks a lot cooler with red lettering and has a slightly better connector retraction and deployment mechanism vs the Extreme Pro.
