Bulbs were as expected but it took about a half dozen tries to get it plugged into the lamp in a way that allowed it to light up. I had no problem with the old bulb, I tied it again and it lit immediately (though only the bottom part - which is why it was being replaced). I thought maybe the bulb was bad, but fortunately I kept trying and it finally worked.
