Q: Can you use these to protect your area from spiders (without killing or hurting them)?

I returned these because my pets would not enter the room I put it in due to the strong smell. It is just a scent that repels the spiders. It doesn't kill them.

They are vey difficult to treat. Once the problem is under control, our products can help in preventing future infestations. Our CEO has been bitten twice by brown recluse spider. Stay Away Spiders uses the scent of botanical oils to repel spiders and the insects that they eat. Please feel free to contact us if you have any additional questions!

Q: I want to use these on my covered deck where spiders are prevalent. The cover lets 30% of the sun through. How long will it last in this environment?

EarthKind's deterrent pouches are designed for use indoors and in enclosed spaces. Due to how the product works, enclosed spaces are conducive to maintaining, a concentrated scent. The product may still work outdoors, but will not last as long or be as effective in areas with a high rate of air exchange, so you will want to replace your pouches at least every 30 days. This will vary depending on weather conditions and how exposed the product will be to heat and air exchange, but many of our customers use our products to deter critters in spaces such as under decks, pump houses, and sheds. If you decided to use the product outside, you may want to take a look at our Stay Away® Pouch Pod to protect the pouch from weather conditions. If the product gets wet, its effectiveness may diminish, so the Pouch Pod will help to combat that. The Pouch Pod also helps to extends the life of the pouches by 3x and conceals pouches from curious kids and pets as well. We hope this helps. Seems to work for a while

The smell is strong at first, but disapates in a few days. It seems to get rid of the spiders, but it is expensive to keep replacing and they last only 4-8 weeks.

The scent is very natural and not chemically induced. I believe it deterred the spiders for a day or so, but then they returned.

I am using on top of my bird cage ( placing on a clear tray so they can’t bite into it) I am seeing spider webs still happening in that room (even after spraying also). But none have bitten my birds .. So I am hoping this product is keeping them back from my birds
