Our ego convinces us that this is simply too good to be true.......
Sri Ramana Maharshi advised us to avoid reading complex spiritual texts which in themselves create vasanas (mental habits and tendencies) difficult to relinquish. The growing popularity of Self Enquiry into the 21st century has seen a plethora of such texts, wordy and complex adding to the confusion of those seeking Truth, whatever that may be. Within this context therefore it is refreshing indeed to read Graham Stew's book "Too Simple for Words". Jargon free, direct and clear throughout the reader is offered an uncluttered path to Truth, one that is delightfully "simple" yet profound and open to all.As we all know however the "simpler" we are told something to be the greater the (Western) mind-centred resistance to it.Our ego convinces us that this is simply too good to be true! So how does the author suggest we overcome this mind-centred illusion in order for us to drop the baggage accumulated in our lives, all the stuff that holds us back? He offers us an interesting dialogue, some very useful "Awareness Training" and a series of beautiful and powerful poems which place us directly in the present inviting us to stop searching for enlightenment, chasing gurus, believe in ourselves and enjoy fully the present in whatever form it is presented to us.Sri Ramana sung the praises of "small and purposeful works". Graham's book is just such a work. I am happy to recommend it as a companion for your personal journey into Truth.

A wonderful, wonderful book
Having read many books on non-dualism, this humble little book stands head and shoulders above the rest. Many of the books I have read have been overly-complex or too 'airy-fairy' but this book is written in such a straightforward manner and it is as if the author is really talking direct to you. I have read this book twice already and I know that I will continue to dip in and out of it endlessly - each time finding something new and finding plenty of a-ha moments with each read. Thank you Graham for such a simple yet enormously profound book - one that I will always treasure.

Graham's book is lovely. For anyone interested in non-dual thinking and its relationship to Eastern philosophy, I recommend it as a great 'dip-into' book and as a complement to mindfulness and breathing meditation practices. That's how I use it. It's above my bed, always within easy reach. Well done Graham.

I suppose this is as good as it gets
One more of an avalanche of books that revolve around non-duality, offering insight into how to live truly within our uncertain Cosmos. Not seeking to be cynical or disparaging of the efforts made, but it does seem that if anyone could collect a 1000 or so crisp phrases then, with the help of a few well chosen quotes from the "enlightened", they could jumble them all up randomly and end up with a book suitable to extract those "ah ha" moments so sought after. This particular book is, I would suppose, as good as it gets and has the additional advantage of being cheap.

extraordinary book I'm reading it again because it is so well stated and well done. I have exposed many of my students to the contents as well. I would recommend this with as high a recommendation as I would Joey Lott books or a host of other non dual writers.
