Searingly honest.
The frankness with which Mimi details her childhood trauma was almost impossible to read. Her journey beyond that is simply wonderful to read and truly inspirational

Brilliant read
What an inspiring lady! In this book she tells her running story, kind of intertwined with her john o groats to land end run, and I'm pretty certain she could write another one too. I'd have like to have read more about her GUCR and other UK ultra runs and peoples he has met along the way, but the stories she did tell were amazing, and as I said earlier, inspirational.

Plenty of great tips and stories about past races and challenges. Thumbs up!
Great book going from why Mimi got started running (and the inevitable slippery slope it is into ultras and multiday challenges). The Jogle (Jon o Groats to Land's end) record challenge provides the spine to the book, with neat diversions off into experiences of other key races and events at the appropriate places. Plenty in here too about how her crew coped with the challenges - so some useful points there for crew or for runner to tell crew. Also some useful tips (which are through out the book as memories of races where things went right or wrong) and useful ways to get yourself motivated when you're getting crushed late on during an ultra. Great book and very well written in a very natural and professional way too. Thumbs up from me!
