Awesome Battery, cheaper then Traxxas and has a hard case...
I bought one of these to see how it compared to my Traxxas battery of nearly the same specification. My Traxxas is 2S 5800 mAh 25C so the only difference is that the Traxxas has a slightly higher mAh rating. I have two Traxxas Rustler VXL's so I was able to run this one side by side against the Traxxas battery which cost about $20 more on Amazon. Guess what, the charges ended with 30 seconds of one another. Dont spend the extra money for the Traxxas. The Venom has a hard case which is holding up way better then the shrink wrap this is on my Traxxas. Not only that but the Venom battery actually fits better in my Traxxas Rustler then the Traxxas battery. This is because of the way the cables enter this battery come out of top on the end right on middle rather then coming right out the very end of the battery. When you jam the Traxxas battery into the Rustler battery compartment the cable have to turn hard 90 degrees up rto exit the battery compartment. Not a problem with the Venom as the cables are already pointed up exiting the top of the battery. Also, connecting to the stock Traxxas connectors was a snap with the provided adapters. I was worried that I wouldnt like the adapters so I was planning on cutting the Venom plug off and installing a factory Traxxas plug. However, I am happy with the Venom adapter and decided to stay with it. Once you snap it in place it becomes a intregral part of the battery and seems to be plenty strong and works well with the Traxxas plug on my car. I bought a second Venom battery after I proved to myself that I liked the first. Now I have a set of Traxxas and a set of Venoms to go with my (and my sons) two Rustlers. I highly recomend this battery for Traxxas Rustler owners. If you see a YouTube video out there showing you how to modify your car so you can put differnt brands of batteries in it dont do it. Buy this battery instead. Its awesome and will save you some hard earned $$$

Best buy overall, cannot go wrong with Venom!
I am a beginner to this RC hobby and started looking at LiPo batteries. I ventured into LiPo with the impression you cannot go wrong with the performance vs the Nimh batteries. Do not get me wrong, NIMH is great and I still use it. I took advice from my LHS (Local Hobby Shop) and suggested Venom not only makes great batteries with good prices but also has different connectors for different vehicles. To top it off having a great warranty!? That is definitely a bonus in my book! Having this vs the stock battery that came with the vehicle and buying a 5000mah NIMH, there is definitely a difference in performance and longevity in run times. I can get a solid 45 minutes of use! That is insane! And yes, that is running it between 50-75% throttle all the way through.I am a Traxxas fan but with the batteries they sell with having to only use the ID portion really does not make it user friendly for other RC vehicles. Granted, I understand the reason for it but does not mean it was a smart route taken by Traxxas. This and for a steep price and practically no warranty? And I say Practically none because its pretty much 30 days and thats ONLY if they even honor the defect. If it wasn't for the support that I receive from my LHS's advice and knowledge, I would probably not have got the Traxxas stampede 4x4 based on their steep price and customer service alone. Traxxas, you make good products overall but you are definitely shooting yourselves in the foot here.

Purchased in 2012 WOW
I purchased these in 2012 as my first lipo batteries getting into the electric rc hobby and there still working great. I used them on a Traxxas slash and on an HPI Savage Flux. They been through dirt, mud, water, bashed, and have flow out into air when bashing. The hard case is still intact and I am not experiencing any problems. I recently found out that when lipos are not in use, your suppose to discharge them and put them in "Storage Mode" to extend life. I also recently found out that you need a quality balancing charger to prevent damage. The local hobby store said that if i dont follow these instructions, the batteries will not hold charge or explode. However, ever since i brought them i've been using traxxes cheap $15 charger and i dunno if it ever balanced them correctly. I also sometimes forget it plugged into the wall for 2 days which apparently was another big no no by the the pros. I also didnt know about the ESC's low voltage detector. good thing i never had any problems and they are still running strong. Conclusion: I disobeyed ever safety concern, physically beat the crap out of it, and ran these until the rc car could not move anymore. I recently brought an Ez Peak fast charger and all the cells properly charge and balance. HANDS DOWN ITS A GREAT BATTERY OR I GOT THE GOOD BATCH. I now follow the safety concerns because I don't want to risk my RC or House to burn down like many say will happen.Traxxas SlashHPI SavageCheap $15 traxxas charger

Does the Job Nicely
So far, I've used this Venom Li-Po battery for about a dozen cycles and it does the job nicely. I bought this for use in an Axial SCX10 and get very decent runtimes out of it, even with primarily backyard bashing (mostly full speed). I've read mixed reviews on the universal plug system but I really like it. I switched the Axial over to an EC3 connector and was going to splice one onto the Venom battery but the included EC3 attachment works so well I didn't see the need. The attachment feels very solid and secure so I don't anticipate a problem with it later. Overall, it looks like a quality battery for a reasonable price. On a side note, at least with the EC3 connector design, the first few times required a lot of force to connect/disconnect the plugs. Apparently, the connectors break in after that because the effort level dropped quite a bit. It still requires some firm pressure to connect/disconnect but I feel it's just right now. Also, both connector bodies have ribbed sections to grip tight which helps.
