Truly enjoyed this crackling fire sound during the Christmas days when I was alone and away from my family so it can give me a wonderful warm fuzzy feeling

This Ultimate Yule Log DVD is nothing short of extraordinary! I find that it plays more like a parody of traditional yule log videos. The mid 90's style of video production is especially hilarious, featuring occasional cheap cartoon graphics such as Santa "Ho Ho Ho-ing" down the chimney, and even includes short clips of Christmas movies thrown in to keep things interesting. The somewhat MIDI-ish late 80's style soundtrack of your favortie holiday songs compliments the off-the-wall graphics well. There's also a few traditonal sounding Christmas songs thrown in for good measure. If you're looking for a yule log video that you can laugh at, enjoy with friends/family/kids, and not take too seriously, this is the one for you!

Received as a gift from my son. Has some very nice instrumental music,as an audio background to the fire , which is a positive.The negatives ? ...some old film clips inserted , one of a B&W film clip of Scrooge, and a few cartoon clips of Santa,reindeer, etc.. Supposed to get you in the holiday spirit ? I'd like it more , if it was limited to watching the fire burn in the fireplace,with the natural sounds of a fire, or with the music...as background.The extras were an unwanted distraction, in my opinion.

Someone thought it clever to intersperse "cartoon" type graphics/animations during the video. Too bad. The music is also a little silly and on the low cost production side, but I suspect this is a copyright issue. You do have an alternate audio track of just the fire crackling, but the corny graphics will still be visible. The video is more likely suitable for small children due to the cartoon animations that pop up.

For the price, it does it's job. It's not perfect quality but it continuously places all day, without you having to do anything so I like that. I have it displayed on a computer monitor in the office.

I really enjoy this DVD. I don't have a fireplace so this works well on a TV screen. Love the "crackle". I wish it went longer. I played the DVD while I was wrapping presents the next thing I knew I was done wrapping and the DVD was over. Great for a bedroom that does not have a fireplace to have going when you are "reading" or whatever!

I was inspired to get one of these because of a Corner Gas episode. Besides, I use a classic console TV which makes it look even better.
