This grow lamp seems too inexpensive to be of good quality, but as I needed something fast, I figured it would at least work for a while, until I found better. No need - the light works beautifully, and has not overheated even once. That had been my biggest concern, with a metal frame. I have been using it for 8-12 hours a day since I received it, and it has exceeded my expectations.As a disabled veteran with chronic pain, who doesn't want to become another casualty of the current opioid epidemic and the blundering incompetence of the government. They seem determined to make it worse, as they've systematically destroyed the careers of many pain management professionals, then made sweeping, draconian and unsubstantiated limitations on legal prescriptions, ensuring many face the brutal choice of buying illegal narcotics, or die from the pain they can no longer receive adequate, legal medication for. I am SO grateful that the DEA, in its overzealous actions taken to protect big pharma profits, brought kratom to my attention. They tried to quickly slap a ban on this great boon from nature, and because of the public backlash, had the exact opposite of their intended effect. Now, more people know about it, and are regaining control of their lives. As a vet, I always try my best to prepare for the worst, like the DEA winning the propaganda war, vilifying the most beneficial botanical on the planet, and eventually succeeding in getting the safest painkiller on earth banned. So, even though I have a brown thumb, and live in the desert, I am attempting to grow this natural wonder indoors, and this grow light has been working like a champ, giving me the time to learn how to make my backup plan thrive. It'll probably take years for the little plant to grow into a dependable source of pain relief, but hopefully, it'll take years for the DEA to regroup after their incredibly helpful blunder. Until then, kratom is still perfectly legal in most places, and fortunately, there are many people ready, willing and able to fight the combined forces of corruption, greed, and ignorance, trying so hard to kill off many disabled citizens, particularly veteran's. Don't believe It? With the stupidity ruling prescriptions from civilian offices, the VA has pledged to be even worse. Their new prescribing "guidelines" make the rest seem reasonable. If you're a veteran in chronic pain, I urge you to look into kratom, then get a little plant, and grow light like this one.

Update: After I submitted my review, the manufacturer contacted me almost immediately. I was impressed with their determination to make things right. They not only replaced the defective unit, they were receptive to my comments regarding the difficulty of contacting them, and sounded like they may make some changes. So overall I am very pleased with their customer service, and happy to up my rating.The light itself still doesn't earn 5 stars, though. It is lightly made and seems to have some reliability issues, but it is a good basic unit. We use one panel per tray of micro-greens with good results------------We have bought 3 of these so far and are reasonably happy with the results, but found we had to use multiple panels to get good growth once the plants got past the seedling stage.However three rows on one panel failed after 2 months. The Amazon page talks of a 12 month "Worry-free Warranty". The literature that comes with it talks of a generous 2 year warranty where all you have to do is contact their "USA warranty center" and even includes a "Warranty CARD" where you can fill in the purchase date, description of the problem, etc. Unfortunately there is no contact information listed. No URL, no email, no address, no phone. After much searching the only contact information we were able to find was an international phone number for customer service on the Amazon seller profile.I consider this intentionally deceptive and so knocked off two stars. There are several other highly rated units on Amazon, so I will look elsewhere when I buy more.

I've had this light long enough that I think I have a pretty good idea how well it works. I have a large plant terrarium where I grow all of my small cuttings and baby plants and root my spider plants in water. The largest spider plant in here (second pic), as well as my fire flash plant (third pic) were both in pretty bad shape when I got the light. They were doing very poorly so I cut them back down almost to the base and started over, hoping that they would grow back when I set the light up. They've been under the light for just over 3 months and the improvement is unreal, far more growth than I had expected. Plant color is amazing, the leaves are strong (better view in pics 4 and 5), and even the spider plantlets that I've been putting in water under the lights root faster than before, it only took about a week for them to have roots large enough to plant them. I am surprisingly impressed with this light, even my avocado plant will bend towards the light in the terrarium rather than the opposite direction where the natural sunlight comes through the sliding glass door. The light itself seem pretty well made, lightweight but doesn't feel cheap, no problems yet with any lights going out, and I run it for 13 to 15 hours a day with no problems. I would definitely recommend.

The plants are growing, but I wouldn't say thriving. I'd say it's adequate for wintering outdoor plants, but I wouldn't use this for serious growth.

best bang for your buck! Great quality.I expected a cheap light to show up and just send it back, but this ones a keeper! One more on the way!

I bought this for my wife. This is her review of it: "This product works as specified, the light looks not as strong as other grow lights but the plants do very well under it. I was able to raise cherry tomatoes and peppers indoors under it (my plants do get the morning sun besides this light). I turn the light on around noon and off around 10 pm for over a month now and the product holds itself well. The light is cold so the plants can be very close to it without issues, but the back of the product gets hot and I don't recommend anything touching it to avoid a fire hazard. Other than that I have no complains about it."

Works as intended and does a fantastic job as an artificial sun for my indoor garden.

While not as bright as other Grow lights, this fixture has full spectrum coverage, and doesn't require fans. I am planning on using this light over a kitchen herb garden, and the fans on other fixtures were too loud to be within a living space. I hope these will provide enough light to keep my plants healthy through the winter, but I will have to wait and see whether 45W is enough to make a difference.
