I got this for my daughter who kept it squirreled away and I thought she was using it. Suddenly, I found it on my shelf with a comment that she really didn't like to take the time to use it.I was frustrated as I wanted to review it, but I am glad I had the new opportunity to try it for myself.HOW LONG TO CHARGEThis takes a micro USB connector to charge and it comes with a short cord. I used a good quality longer cord with success. It took overnight to charge as it was pretty dead for me.WHAT I USE THIS FORI like to do Gua Sha on my face. It is relaxing and it really does tighten the skin. I decided to try the lifting setting of this as a substuite to test it out. I also tried the ion for applying creams to the faceRESULTSWhat I found was interesting. The ion setting did help the cream to go into the face nicely. I like how it performed. For the lifting part, well, I have to say that it did work in a similar way to the gua sha that I use. It does make a brighter and more lifted tone to my face which I like.THE BOTTOM LINEI LOVE Michael Todd Products and have used quite a few of them. This is an item I got for my daughter who didn't want to use it, so I got it back recently. It has performed well so far.MY RATINGFIVE STARS. Michael Todd hit it out of the park again for me. I am glad I got this back from my daughter. I like it for the two applications I am using for it so far. It does leave me wanting to use the cleaning aspect although I would probably only do that once in a great while. The lifting and ion, however, I am more likely to use regularly.

Basically you're paying for the Michael Todd name with this spatula. I've used these things before, even no-name Alibaba brands, and they basically all do the same thing. To me, this one seems louder than others, and I don't really see any difference in skin results. The cap is almost impossible to remove on this one, so I tossed it in the trash.

I find the overall concept of this device to be clever and effective: Ultrasonic vibrations are used to cleanse the pores of sebum and debris. It’s like the snake charmer of devices: if you hold it at an angle against your skin, the vibration causes the pores to empty themselves and it looks like you are charming snakes of debris out of your skin. There’s no need to press hard, let the device do its work.For me the negative is the width and shape of the blade head: it’s awkward to use. I think it would be easier to maneuver if it was 2/3 the size and with less of a curve.Be warned: do not get over zealous. Use this after the sebum has been loosened with warm water, use it moderately, and immediately use something to tame down your skin (I use witch Hazel or a treatment type toner).

I am honestly amazed at how effective this thing is at cleaning pores. You should be careful when using it because like most sonic skincare tools its very easy to get over-eager and end up irritating your skin but it really does push the junk out of your pores. Its crazy. If you use this in front of a magnifying mirror you can actually see it pushing stuff out of your pores as it moves along the skin. Its effective and kind of gross but also oddly satisfying.The scraper blade is easy to clean and comes with a cap to keep it clean when you aren’t using it. Its thin enough to easily fit in a small makeup or toiletry bag and it lasts a really long time on a single charge. Just be careful to press too hard.

For decades, I've followed a regimen of cleaning and moisturizing daily. Applying serums occasionally became routine a few years back. I was sure that my cleaning routine was stellar. Therefore, my initial interest in the Sonic Skim ultrasonic skin spatula was its promise to increase serum infusion. If you purchase serums, you know they can be pricey, so it makes sense to maximize their application. When first received, the tool has to charge for a minimum of 12 hours, so I couldn't try it right away. When it was fully charged the next morning, I tried the deep cleaning function first. Because of my daily regime of cleaning, I didn't expect much, but the end of the little spatula got coated with debris in just one pass. Instantly, I understood that my old daily regime hadn't been enough. The combination of the little stainless steel shovel, its ultrasonic vibrations, and the ion technology proved to do a far better job than I'd ever done. For that, I was already thrilled with the Sonic Skim's performance when I first used it to infuse serum. Instead of using the tip, the shovel's opposite side couples with ionic technology to drive serum deeper. It's my understanding that the effectiveness of serums is dependent on how deeply they penetrate. I'm unable to objectively measure an increase in the depth of penetration. However, I feel a positive difference and believe using the tool will help me maximize the benefits of serum use. I'm very happy with its ease of use. My face looks and feels brighter and tighter. Five stars.

If I'm to believe all of the claims this product makes, that would make it better than the average skin skimming tool. There are so many low priced models, most vibrate slightly and you press to extract impurities. Particularly effective around the nose.It feels pretty much the same as others, but the claim is that it works even better, stimulating the skin and not just extracting.Although I haven't noticed a difference in that area, In my opinion, there is no reason for this company to make false claims. I'm basing that on the fact that I've watched this company since the beginning. When they started out as a competition to the clarisonic, but offering lots of fun colors and patterns to the device. I believe they are careful about their reputation, and since the company is growing.
