This is the 4.5" grinder to buy!
Holy Cr&p! This is one good grinder!!! I am becoming a Dewalt fanboy, but this review is legit. I was looking for a second angle grinder and really wanted the dewalt 20v angle grinder... but the complaints about battery life were nagging at me.. it's fine if you want to break an edge now and then, but I was in the middle of a big job and thought I didn't have enough batteries to cycle through... so I find this one instead... The 11amp motor is real... I have a 6amp grinder and you can tell the difference when you are hanging on! You can lay into the wheel and remove material without slowing down... really it's the only way to go! The paddle is also very nice feature, sort like an on off switch, but also like a deadman switch... it takes nothing to hold on, because you hand is already wrapped around the handle... This is the 4.5" grinder to buy!

Works well and has some power behind it
Note: this doesn't come with an angle grinder wrench. They expect you to use the included Allen key. Such a system seems to work fine, but it is definitly an odd thing to skip and I can't help feel slightly miffed. It is listed as cheaper than what was at my local hardware store had and has got plenty of power. I don't like to skimp on angle grinders so DEWALT and Milwaukee are my go to. I run a shop and both brands hold up to the abuse of everyone using them with little regard for preserving tool longevity. I haven't noticed any significant quality difference between them.

Dewalt is a good product 💪
Very happy with my Dewalt grinder. I just bought it as an extra one so that I can put different attachments on it so I don’t have to change from cutting wheel to grinding stone to the wire wheel. Again, very happy. Thank you. 😎

Change in lock mechanism, no longer get the spanner style wrench
Liked: -overall Dewalt quality and operation -Seems well built Disliked: -They've changed the locking mechanism from the previous angle grinders I've had. Interestingly, the lock mechanism now matches closely to what one of the cheap tool retail stores sells and the lock mechanism is the one reason I didn't go back there to replace the dewalt grinder which recently failed. I'll see if I can adjust to it, but for moment, it doesn't seem as 'ergonomically' suited to my hands. -This probably will ultimately be a 'non-event', but at the moment, it seems like a further effort to save a dollar by the manufacturer. You no longer get a 'spanner' type wrench with the angle grinder. You get a hex wrench (I call them allen wrenches). I was going to customer support to request the spanner and one of the FAQs actually was about the allen wrench. They even have a video on using the allen wrench to tighten the nut. I guess I wasn't the first that raised the concern. I've only used it a few minutes, but overall, I expect to get good use out of it as the Dewalt I'm replacing is about 10 years old (I'm going to try brush replacement to see if that brings it back to life, just on a 'why not try?' basis. Dewalt's stuff typically is well made.

Wasn't sure about investing in this tool, but if you are looking to grind cement - it made my project much easier! I spent 3 weeks scraping thinset of my basement floor. Had to level some concreateso bought this, a shroud and a disc or concrete. I was done within an hour - including improving on my thinset removal over the whole area! The right tool makes a difficult job MUCH easier. Worth the investment. I can see MANY more uses for it too and am excited to use it more. If you are on the edge - do it ! You won't regret it!
