Appearance:Regular looking power outlet with clearly marked always on socket and app/button controlled outlet.Assembly & Installation:Turn off the power and replace a regular outlet. The back of this is pretty big, so hopefully there are not a lot of wires you have to contend with in the back of the box. As another reviewer mentioned, the screws do not follow regular color-coding, so you have to read the back of the socket to make sure you are hooking it up correctly. There is also no "wire strip length" indicator to help make sure you are getting the correct length into the socket. After getting it back in the box, the front plate 'clips' into the socket around the sides/edges. This posed a small problem for my installation, so I really had to work in the clips to make sure they stay connected. Your results may vary. Download the app and add your device (auto-scan made this easier than figuring out what kind of socket version this is).Thoughts:The app has a good amount of features to it, I was really pleasantly surprised. There is normal schedule (time on and off), countdown timers, a circulate feature (that I can't figure out what it does), a random timer (again, I can't figure out that interface), inching - where each time you turn it on, it will automatically turn off, and sunrise and sunset timers.The app could explain things better, but again, lots more features than I expected. There's also child locks, logs, and more. Pretty feature rich for a basic outlet.Overall: Nice Wifi outlet with a good feature set, could use some help in the UI of the app, but there is a lot more than I expected out of this.

Stopped Working after a couple months, cannot be found on any of the apps. Don't waste your money like I did.

I liked the design of these with 1 smart outlet and 1 always on, with a physical button to toggle the smart outlet. Alas the design cannot make up for poor components. The first one failed within a week, the smart outlet wouldn't supply power and the wifi indicator constantly flashed purple. The second one lasted 2 months before it decided to constantly toggle the smart outlet on and off every 10 seconds. This started in the middle of the night, and since the toggle is fairly loud and it was in my bedroom I had to switch the breaker off and uninstall it at 2am. I can forgive 1 failure as unlucky, but to have both fail so quickly reeks of cheap components. Do not buy

I bought the 4-pack for a home renovation project. The installation and setup was easy enough. After a month of so of being installed, but not used, the bottom app controlled outlet stopped working. The light blinks purple/red and it cannot be connected or paired again to the app. This also means that the outlet is not getting power and is useless. Amazon will not replace the device, and UCOMEN has not responded to my attempts for support. Do yourself a favor and do not purchase.

The picture didn't come out as clear as I'd like, but I'm not going back to take another. The body on this is pretty large, which can be problematic in a two-gang box, but will probably be fine in single gang as long as it's deep enough for the wires. The first thing I noticed is that all the screws are plain silver instead of color coded silver, gold, and green for neutral, line, and ground respectively. I haven't seen anything not follow the code in so long I don't know if it's actually a compliance requirement or not. It says it conforms to the UL directive and says certified to CSA (same document, different organization) but there's no logo, so I don't really believe it. Thus you're relying on their word, not a third party verification as to this meeting any sort of safety requirements.As far as the smart switch itself, it's based on the Tuya SmartLife platform, which most of the cheap Chinese switches use. Generally I've come to like that platform since it's pretty universal and you can stay with the one SmartLife app instead of using one from each vendor. Feature support can still vary from device to device, although I'd say this one is pretty standard.I can't speak yet to longevity, so we'll just have to wait and see. I've had mixed luck with in-wall switches so we'll just have to wait and see.

This is a nice and working smart power wall outlets. I think for the prices this is a good deal as you can convert anything into an automated if plugged into these wall outlets which is so cool.I am able to control through the smartlife app that I am using for few other smart stuff in my home and I just need to add these as additional devices. I like that you can connect with Alexa as well and do voice control too which is exactly I was looking to automate my home and this set came in handy for me. Have to see the longetivity and how effective they will be but will update this review if I see results any different after using for some time. Hope this will be helpful.

These work well and are easily controlled via the app or Alexa... They seem robust enough to keep working for quite a few years. I think overall these are worth looking into and are a solid 4 star buy...
