Game changer
Post severe reconstruction surgery on my ankle and lower shin I struggled with the crutches and walking frame that was provided to me from my local hospital. The crutches slide on the wet path outdoors in the rain they were awkward and risky to use in restaurants and the walking frame put pressure on my good leg whilst trying to hop and manoeuvre around the house. I had 3 months before I could weight bear I felt extremely frustrated and isolated especially as I was typically a fit active outdoor person. A friend came across a knee Walker/ scooter on social media I had never seen one before. Immediately I purchased this item and it has dramatically increased my mobility its so light and flexible to use around the house (depending on the tightness of your doorways and furniture) my house isn’t very spacious but yet it can glide around corners and it’s easy to manually reverse. It feels so safe to use outdoors, it has breaks I can go to the local shop visit friends and family independently that live near to me. The seat where you rest your leg provides comfort and stability and the basket on the handle bars is so useful. The handle bars which can fold back and seat are adjustable providing easy access to pack in a car. This is a game changer for me I just wish I knew about it during my first 6 weeks post surgery.

Game Changer
I completely ruptured my achilles in May 2022 and was prescribed with a non surgical repair. It was partially re-ruptured in July that year. It was eventually operated on in September 2022. During my first period of rehab in May, I used crutches for the first few weeks. They were a struggle and a hindrance. For my second, post-operative, rehab I was determined to do things differently so I ordered this scooter, ready for when I came out of surgery. What a difference it makes to my every day life! I spend much less time sitting down in the same place and can use it to kneel on when I need my hands. It is so much more comfortable to use than crutches and it’s also fun to use.I am 15 stone and 6ft. This easily supports me, it is robust and sturdy, however, I am only using it indoors. If you are looking to use a scooter outdoors then a larger, all-terrain one would be much better with its pneumatic tyres. The tyres on this one are solid rubber. Perfect for indoors.I only use it downstairs so you may need to buy two if you want to use one upstairs too as it is too heavy to cart up and down the stairs. In any case, with your leg injury you really wouldn’t want to attempt this.

Cannot recommend enough!
For reference, I’m female ,50, broke 2 bones in ankle and big toe. Really struggled with crutches as I have not good enough upper body strength, and cannot weight bear at all on leg in cast. The scooter ( knee Walker) means I can get around the house, a shop and the garden. It’s extremely easy to manoeuvre and a complete life saver. All the fracture clinic staff at hospital highly rate them , but of course they aren’t provided on nhs. I did buy the basket version as you can pop phone, water bottle etc in and travel from room to room. Well worth the investment when 6 weeks is the lower end of recovery time.I hesitated a week after accident before taking the plunge and buying one, my advice , for what it’s worth ….. don’t wait .

Not very steady outside
Whilst my scooter is excellent indoors, it's not very stable to use outside. The 'steering column' is loose, and the wheels are unable to cope with stone chips... I have fallen twice because a stone chip was in the way, and nearly fallen at least 5 times for the same reason. I feel falls could be averted with a more stable steering column because when one hits a stone chip one comes to an immediate stop whole the steering column wobbles forwards, backwards, side to side, resulting in a lack of control and balance. Also the brakes when in the locked position don't stop the scooter from moving. That being said the knee pad is very comfortable and the adjustable seat and steering column feature means one can perfectly adjust the scooter to suit ones needs. It is also much better than using crutches and has given me greater independence.

Not Safe
This product is NOT safe. After 2 weeks of use I noticed it started to become unstable so I tightened all the fixtures as per the instructions. The scooter came apart from the middle while I was on it needless to say anyone purchasing this including myself is already injured. This product may cause further injury and I don't recommend it.

Life saver
I broke my ankle and needed surgery. This scooter had really been amazing in helping me have some independence. I have only really used at home but taken out once. It didn't feel too secure when out but mainly as the ground outside wasn't all smooth. The basket is very useful too.
