Worked as Advertised
It works. I had an initial issue because the hard drive I wanted to connect wasn't showing up. However, my issue was a user error and it was not a result of the hardware. I needed to turn on the automatic detection of hard drives and assign a drive letter, after that it was smooth sailing.

Works, but don't expect paperwork
You better know what you are doing, because there is no paperwork at all with this product. That being said, it works well. It's limited by a slow USB connection, but you can expect that prior to purchasing. The SATA disk shows up as another drive on your computer. This is a great product for rescuing data from a hard disk from a failed computer. I used it for that and am it worked like a champ.

Works well; if you get a well built cable
Bought 2; one of them works like a charm. The other one,has some extra plastic in 3 of the contacts, preventing the drive connectors to fit well. Without good contact, it can't work. Seems more an issue of quality control of the build than the performance of the cable itself. Unfortunately, since the first one worked so well, I didn't even tried the second one until it was too late to return it.

Description is somewhat misleading. It doesn't have SAS support from what I can see. I tried it on an SAS LTO-4 tape drive. I used another connector to supply proper power to the drive.Same setup on 3.5" SATA works with this device.So I can say for sure it's not fully SAS compatible I don't have any other SAS devices or I would try one...

Handy tool
Super product if you work with SATA drives moving them around. Or if you want to remove the master drive from your laptop or temp hookup in desktop. Allows for versatility.

STILL WORKS GREAT
I still use it for my extenal hard drives. I use it for my saved data and movies. Also reinstalling operating systems using it with my hard drive. This was the best choice

Go elsewhere...
This dongle DOES NOT fit a SAS drive. I run a data center. I have TONS of SAS drives... This thing is good as a paper weight... Bypass this...
