Can I continue to feed this to my adult minature dachshunds? They like the taste so much.

Look at the ingredients of both Puppy and Original--you'll see that they are almost identical. Puppy has only 2 calories/cup more than Original;  2% more fat, BUT 2% more fiber, and LESS sugar. IMO, that's better nutrition. I have a 6yr old GS and she eats and loves Puppy. My vet says Puppy is fine for adult dogs. A dog's life is too short--feed your dog what they like. As with any food , watch portion control, keep them active, and don't let the dog get overweight for longevity and optimal health.

Is this a good brand food for a purebred blue nose pitbull that is 9 weeks old?

Many pit bulls grow larger than 50 lbs which is considered Large Breed. If you do not know what size your dog’s parents are, this brand would be the safe. The dangers of feeding a food that is not tailored for large breed puppies are problems in skeletal development. Too much calcium and phosphorous can result in crippling skeletal conditions in large and giant breed puppies. Large and giant breed dogs are especially sensitive to too much calcium and phosphorous in their diets. In answer to your question I would say Yes this is a very good food for your Bluenose. The other brand that you might consider is Instinct which also has a formula for large/giant breed dogs. Be careful about adding supplements to these foods because you may be adding too much calcium, phosphorous and vitamin D. To protect your large/giant breed puppy from developing skeletal problems you should also read recent articles written by experienced breeders and recent research articles written by veterinary scientists about the special requirements of feeding large and giant breed puppies. This advice is not limited to particular large and giant breeds. Many mixed breed puppies who may reach large/giant size also require special limited ratios of calcium and phosphorous. Remember that large and giant pups mature more slowly so they will require the large/giant puppy special diet for  longer maturation period, up to 18 mos of age. Talk to your veterinarian about this. If your vet has not kept up with the latest research on dog nutrition, seek a second opinion from another veterinarian. There are now veterinarians who are certified specialists in canine nutrition. If you cannot find one in your area you can arrange a consult with one online. Prevention is a lot less expensive than having to deal with serious problems that could and should easily been prevented wile your dog was still young. I have long experience with having rescued giant breed dogs so I am familiar with their special dietary needs even when they are adults. I just acquired a 3 month old giant breed, a Cane Corso. I will do whatever I can to make sure she gets the correct optimal start in life by feeding her appropriately so she can reach maturity on as healthy and strong state as possible.

The 13lb size is made in Kentucky in Orijen's new kitchen, with ingredients sourced from that region of the US. If the 15lb size you are referring to is ASIN B00BJGY9J2, that is made in Orijen's Alberta, Canada kitchen, with ingredients sourced from that region of Canada. The formula/recipe is the same, but due to Orijen's local sourcing philosophy, will reflect the differences between regional ingredients.

Is it true that Nestle just bought out Orijen and the food quality has changed?

I realize this is an old question, but as of the end of 2022, Champion foods has made a deal with MARS.  The sale will be complete the beginning of 2023. I believe I read this month. (March)
