Nonstandard fit and quit working after a week...
NONSTANDARD FIT--It shows the top is 3.15", which is standard, meaning it won't fall through the standard size round opening of a lantern it's being used for, BUT WHAT THEY DON'T TELL YOU is the inner portion, the portion that hangs below that 3.15" top, is much narrower than standard, so when you put in a standard light that has an opening just under 3.15", it doesn't slide in snug like other replacement tops but slides around back and forth, which it would do on mine since mine is on a lantern that hangs on a shepherd's hook outside and gets blown by the wind and whatnot. So, in order to get it to fit snug, I ended up wrapping the inner cylinder that hangs below that 3.15" top many, many, many times with masking tape. In reminded me of when I was in high school and my girlfriend wrapped all this yarn around my class ring so that it would fit her finger without sliding off. I'm not talking about a little bit of masking tape but easily went around it 30 or so times, and even then, it wasn't enough, so then I ended up putting these kind of thick but not very big around rubber bands I had around the masking tape and then doing several more layers of the masking tape over the top again. I'd hoped to have gone slightly oversize and that the rubber on the rubber band would give and help it fit snuggly, but even then, it just filled the hole, enough that it wasn't sliding around on top of the lantern and but not snug, like if I flipped the lantern upside down, it wouldn't surprise me if it fell right out. But good enough. So why didn't I just return them and get standard ones, the black plastic ones you see for sale on here that are just like the ones that come in lanterns, just like the one that came in my lantern? Well, because none of them offer the changing multi-color LED option. I'd just gotten all these other solar LED lights for my walkway that gradually change color and I wanted the light in my lantern to match. None of the black plastic ones did that, so I decided to jerry-rig this one to fit by widening the inner cylinder with all that tape, and it wouldn't effect function at all because it's just on the sides against plastic.Since the more important thing for me was the changing colors and this was the only 3.15" replacement top I could find that did that, I decided to set aside the fact that the inner cylinder was too small (better too small than too big, I suppose) and jerry-rig it, just like I set aside the fact that they're made of white plastic instead of black plastic, like the original, which I'd prefer.QUIT WORKING AFTER A WEEK--Jerry-rigged as it was with all that masking tape and rubber bands, it looked great because you couldn't see any of that as the sides of the lamp it slid into hid all that, just like it hid the sides of the original black one that was just a soft-white light that came with the lantern when I got it a few years ago as a gift from my sister but which a few weeks ago quit working.THAT ONLY LASTED A WEEK, THOUGH! Exactly one week after going through all that effort of jerry-rigging it to fit what it should've been made to fit to start with, it started going on the fritz. The light started fluttering instead of being constant. I reconciled I was OK with that, that it kind of made it look like a flickering candle was in the lantern, if flickering candles ever continually changed colors, that is. But then some of the colors quit working, like it went completely dark for red, no light, but now, as of last night, it doesn't work at all anymore.I know it's got nothing to do with that masking tape because that's just on the outside of the plastic case. The light itself is defective. You know, I only actually needed one, but since they only come in two packs, I'd also reconciled that, that I'd be getting "an heir and a spare," as it were. Well, the heir to the original only managed to hold its crown for a week before dying, so now I'm already onto the spare. Maybe that's why they only sell two packs-- because their quality sucks so much they know you're going to need the second one sooner rather than later. If the spare doesn't work, meaning both suck so bad they go kaput in just days, I'll be back to add that fact to this review, which is why I gave it two stars, so that if the second one is bad, too, I have room to lower it one star.

Great replacement option- color changing or white
Just what I needed for both my outdoor lights. One is color changing, the other white. These have the option for either

Didn’t last long
I ordered these to replace the set I had for about 2 years. These replacements only lasted a few months with minimal use.

Only Received an Empty Envelope! No replacement Tops!
I was.looking forward to using one of these tops on my color changing mosaic glass lantern. The lantern is beautiful, and worked for about two years, then stopped working, so I was happy to see the top replacements on Amazon. That plastic mailing envelope arrived as promised, but it was empty! The envelope had the original seal on it, so I know nothing fell out or was tampered with. Manufacturer might want to keep an eye on the shipping department.
