Crazy Stupid Bromance: 3 (Bromance Book Club)

Funny, clever, and positively swoon-worthy.
This is a consolidated review of books 1-3 in the Bromance Book Club Series.Of all the book clubs I have heard or read about (real or fictional) this is hands-down the most unique, unusual, and sensitive, which is surprising, since it happens to be strictly by and for men.Ten of Nashville’s movers and shakers - professional athletes, business owners and city officials - have a secret book club. They read romance novels, or manuals as they call them, which they believe hold the answer to relationships.Welcome to the Bromance Book Club. The first rule of book club: You don't talk about book club.I had this on my back-burner TBR and picked it up when I needed something quick and sharp to read. After the first, I binge-read the balance in mere hours. Each of the books follow one guy who is coached by the rest of the book club on how to save his marriage or find love. They read a regency romance best suited to the situation at hand and simply follow the instructions between the lines. As the story develops, the characters evolve and pass the baton onto the next. Each case is a challenge for the book club where winning is the only option. If ever there was an inventive concept for a novel, it has to be this: men reading romance novels to realise women are not a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma. For all those who look down on the romance genre, this is proof that valuable relationship advice lies in its pages. The guys are gorgeous, the women are determined, and the emotions are complex. This is funny, clever, and positively swoon-worthy. You’ll forego food and sleep just so you don’t have to stop reading.

A sweet and satisfying friends-to-lovers romance.
Crazy Stupid Bromance is a sweet and satisfying friends-to-lovers romance. Once again, one of the book’s biggest highlights is Lyssa Kay Adams’ exposure of toxic masculinity and fragility. Her writing, while hilarious and light, is also an empowering combination of truths and values that are always enjoyable to read.I really like Alexis and Noah as characters. They’re both a little dorky, occasionally awkward, and the best kind of best friends. The comfortable dynamic between them is established from the beginning and is a wonderful foundation to their romance. I also love that both have grounding pasts. It adds a layers of realism to a book that could easily be all ‘rainbows and sunshine’. The book is a bit of a slow-burner, but it’s worth the wait. I just wish their journey developed into something a little deeper. The flow in Crazy Stupid Bromance is quite hit and miss. One minute, the plot is engaging. Then the next, it’s almost stagnant. I really like the friends-to-lovers narrative, but didn't care for the family-based storylines despite it playing a heavy role. In fact, it felt like this took centre stage over the love story. Alexis’ long-lost sister and family are unlikeable with no redeemable qualities! I’m a fan of the series, so there’s no way this would be a DNF. But this side of the plot let it down and it’s definitely my least favourite so far.I enjoyed this book, but it’s underwhelming in comparison to the first in the series, which is my favourite. Fortunately, Alexis and Noah are easy to root for and were my primary motivation for reading. Additionally, Lyssa Kay Adams’ contemporary style is always an uplifting treat. The Bromance Book Club didn’t feature as I would have liked, but it’s always nice to revisit this endearing group of friends.

Beefcake & Love
Alexis who runs a cat cafe and recently came forward about being a survivor of sexual harassment by her ex employer because of this her cafe has become a place for others to come for support. A woman has been coming in and staring at Alexis for a while they eventually get to talking and Candi claims to be her sister. Shocked and upset she ring her best friend Noah who she also has romantic feelings toward for his help.Noah is a hacking genius who got caught as a teenager and has since turned his life around. He earns plenty of money, has great friends, owns his house and is in love with Alexis. Throughout the book he's her rock because what are friends for!Overall this was a 4.5 read for me, it could have been 5stars but honestly Lexas newfound family gave me bad vibes. The fact that she just believed these new people and let me reel her in after such a short period of time frustrated me because Noah never gave her a reason to doubt him.The friends to more aspect was done really well, no matter what neither of them wanted to ruin their friendship even though they both wanted more. The relationship was good once it got started and I love the protective cat beefcakeThe bromance aspect which I normally love I found a bit tiring this time because Noah was being sensitive and the guys gave him all the blame which was a bit much in my opinion. Sometimes the man isn't the one who messes up and responsibility needs to be taken by the woman as well, two-way street people.

Crazy Stupid Bromance
This is the third instalment in the Bromance Bookclub series. Noah and Alexis have been secondary characters throughout the series but we definitely saw more of them in Undercover Bromance and the start of a spark between them. Since we last saw them Noah and Alexis have became the best of friends, both harbouring secret feelings for the other, both too hesitant to do anything about them. Mack, Gavin and the gang pull Noah in to the Bromance Bookclub to help him understand and express his feelings for Alexis. However Noah needs more than just help with his feelings for Alexis, but that's what bookclub is for.I loved Alexis. She's definitely been my favourite female so far. Despite all the atrocities she's been through she still had such a kind and caring heart and that shines through in this book. As always the Bromance between the male characters is prevalent and it adds such a unique dynamic to these books. I enjoyed this just as much as the others and can't wait to read The Russians story in Isn't it Bromantic, out next year!

Love this series
I am loving the new series by Lyssa Kay Adams -her Bromance books are a breath of fresh air in Romancelandia. They are modern, fresh and without many misogynistic tropes that some novels perpetuate. Crazy Stupid Romance is a third in a series and it tells a story of Alexis and Noah. This is a lovely from friends to lovers trope but without any character forcing his feelings on the other person. Both of them fight their insecurities and a consent is always present in the book, which is one of my favourite things about the series.

Funny and heart wrenching
I adore this entire series so much. With manly men getting in touch with their feelings and throwing off the shackles of toxic masculinity and women unafraid of going after what they want, this is perfect chick lit. I adore all of the characters and their interactions with each other and every pairing means we get to know more and more about each one.I love the subtle and not so subtle humour and the relationships between the men themselves. The Russian with his poor digestive system is definitely my favourite.
