A cracking plot concept
When her brother; Mason, is sent away from home to an academy that calls itself the Residential Reform Academy, Drew is sad that her brother has gone but also slightly relieved as his behaviour was becoming uncontrollable. Plus she's got enough on her plate, she's being bullied at school and doesn't need any more negative emotions when she gets home.As she runs along the street home, fearful of her bullies catching her, someone grabs her. Her relief when she sees that it's not one of the girls from school is huge but then the fear kicks in. Why is this woman trying to pass her a note, who is she?She chases Dr Cobey down the street asking more questions but Cobey won't say anymore... and then she's stopped from ever speaking again...Suspicious right? Drew is even more curious when she unfolds the note and reads her brother's words. Everything is not what it seems at the academy.Determined to save her brother, Drew conducts research online that leads her to discover some unsettling information about the Academy. With her mother not taking her seriously, Drew sees only one option: to save her brother from the inside. This story had serious hook-ability, it grabbed my attention instantly and with its fast pace, I couldn't put it down. Throughout the chapters, Taylor manages to feed information about the academy to us readers through her characters, whilst also casting a certain level of doubt on who we could trust. I loved that I hard to decide what was fact and what was fiction! The second half of the book reveals the most shocking twists and the momentum seemed even faster through these parts - a massive adrenaline rush as you race alongside the characters to uncover the whole truth.A cracking plot concept that Taylor has masterfully explored and delivered to the reader with maximum impact.

Good book spoilt by bad editing
Was after a cheap book to read before the main book I wanted to read was released. Spotted this for £1, i read about the book and reviews so decided to give it a go.The book is about a teenager girl called Drew who brother was been excluded from school and is transferred to a treatment centre. However when a woman from the centre approaches Drew with a message from her brother saying the treatment centre isn't want it seems. Drew decides to dismiss the note as she doesn't believe it, that is until the woman who gived her the note is killed. So Drew makes a plan to be submitted to the centre herself so she can rescue her brother and discover the real truth of what going on at the treatment centre.Overall I found the story okay although it was a bit predictable. However the main problem I have with the book is the poor editing in the book. It was like it wasnt proof read before printing as there is a number of mistakes throughout the book including missing words (although the reader can tell what the word is it got a bit annoying at the number of occasions you have to do this), or in some causes the same word wrote down twice. The errors were very annoying and spoilt the flow of the book as you kept stopping every time you came to a error. However for a £1 book I can't moan too much. Its like the author rushed the book out without checking for any errors. So overall I would give the story 4 stars as it was a good read however giving 3 stars due to the poor editing. I hope the author takes her time writing her new book and that she gets someone to check the book over for errors before going to print, so readers don't get another book like this.So overall I would recommend this book but only if it stays at £1.

Currently off work due to surgery and bored. Stumbled upon this book and got hooked so far read three of this fairly new author in circulation. Fantastic relatable characters. Gripping story line I find it hard to put the books down once I start. Hence last one finished at 2.30am. ordering another one of hers today. She's also written a Young adult fiction thriller to. Which I read of course and was gripped all the way through. She's just brilliant and fresh in her writing.

young adult fiction
I didnt realise at first that it was amed more at the teenage market, but it was quite entertaining all the same. have actually seen a film that was similar, cant remember what it was called, but in this book, the place is creepy and imagining yourself in that type of situation, you would certainly want to get out, and her father turnng up, put a nice twist on it.I was so relieved they managed to escape

A great YA Thriller
Having found C.L Taylors other work during lockdown and finished them all, I gave this little gem a try and I'm super glad that I did. This book had me thinking about it long after I'd finished it. Very well thought out plot, really twisty with a few surprises that I genuinely didn't see coming. Can't wait for another YA read from this author.
