Installed this for pool equipment scheduling and it’s been reliable. The enclosure feels sturdy, wiring terminals are accessible, and the 7-day programming with multiple ON/OFF events is very useful. Works well across the voltage range listed. Tip: take a photo of your wiring before removal and verify breaker is off—this is not a “plug-in” device.

For some reason the mechanical timers never laster long for me. (6 months to a year.). So after going through three of them, I decided to go electronic. But I wanted one that is simple to set and use. I found that in this unit. The only hard part was my installation guy learning the different wiring connections from the mechanical one he installed. But that was only a half hour of additonal learning. Anyway, it’s been on and working flawlessly for over six months, and it seems like it’s going to do so for years. So if you want something simple, or something that turns to pool on and off on different days of the week, this unit will do the job. The only thing is the clock is set on military time (1300 is 1:00pm, 1400 is 2:00pm, etc.), and I’ve found no way to change it. And the display isn't very bright. (I used a flashlight.). Other than those two items that you only need to deal with when you first set it up, it seems great.

Edit on 19 March 2026: Soon after my original less than complimentary review of my purchase I received a reply from Dewenils. This demonstrates a high degree of commitment to customer service and support. My original review gave the unit 3 stars and I am added a fourth due to this nice proof of support. My original review was accurate, in my view. I suggest that Dewenils create a video showing how to program the unit. This would make the installation process much easier for future customers. My suggestion of a clearer indication of unit mode is probably not feasible but still seems like a nice wish list item. Original review: I installed this unit today in about 90 minutes to control our water heater. The installation was fairly simple with removal of the previous switch taking about a third of the time. The unit is in a utility closet with the water heater and the AC blower. Some reviews mentioned how easy it is to program. Maybe it's me but I found it a royal pain with the manual being far from highly informative. Even YouTube failed me as there are many reviews but none that show the actual steps to program the device. One review on YouTube did mention that programming could be a challenge. I tried to follow the steps in the manual exactly but the step for setting the Off time did not appear as shown. I also could see anyway to cancel the step and restart the process. I BELIEVE I was able to FINALLY get a program set. We will find out tomorrow. My other compliant about the device is the tiny font used to display information in the small led screen. Even with my strongest reading glasses I need to take a strong flashlight to the closet to read the screen. This would not be so much of an issue but the only way to know whether the unit is in Auto is to read the tiny text on that small screen. Given that she-who-must-be-obeyed sometimes has the need to heat more water than normal on occasion and the fact that she might OCCASIONALLY forget to go back to place the device back to Auto, being able to easily know whether it the unit is in the desired state. A better design would be to add another LED to the panel that shows whether the unit is in Auto.

I purchased 2 units. One for a 240v water heater, one for a 120v hot water recirculation pump. Both for my home hot water system. Before ordering, I read a lot of the 1 star reviews. A lot of the reviews stated the install instructions and programming instructions were difficult to understand; display can not be read if not looking straight at it; the display screen dies after 8 months or so. Install It does need to be mounted in such a way that you are able to look at the display straight on. Either at standing height or kneeling height for ease of install and programming. If you have a basic understanding of electrical diagrams, these can be installed with ease. I do recommend making your own jumper wires of the same wire gauge you are using for install. This will allow equal clamping pressure when you tighten the clamp screws. Programming It did take me two tries to get it right only because I skipped a step. If you follow the instructions step by step, programming is a breeze. Display failing I guess I'll find out in 8 months if the display is going to fail. I'll update review if this happens.

Very easy to install and works perfectly

Using it to power on/off a 220v pump and salt generator for an inground pool. Have it set to run on off peak times and have had no issues. Happy and impressed. Saving a good amount of money in electricity alone. Simple to setup with great instructions. Can function on 220 or 110 connection. Well built.

the timer works as it should - setting on / off times can be a little challenging for older people the first time - the digital display could be a little larger or brighter - using it for a irrigation pump system
