Very Nostalgic
This brought back memories. It’s a near perfect replica of the older rotary phones. It’s light weight and comes packaged perfectly. Highly recommend

Go back to the past with a retro telephone better than the original
Love this red retro rotary landline desk telephone from Sangyn. Looks identical to the old Western Electric 500 rotary telephone, with a hint to its touch tone push buttons cousin. Designed to work with modern connections, and has two important extra holes in its dial wheel. So the Sangyn can be used for everything because it has the ability to use the pound and star features of its push buttons rival. It is well built with today’s circuits, but has the feel of its beloved ancestor. Got a real bell insidethat is loud when it is ringing. Since I don’t have Ma Bell for service, I use a X-Link gateway that uses the Bluetooth of my cellular phone for its dial tone, and supplies plenty of electricity to power it.Really happy with this purchase*****

It actually looks like the real thing and it works
I love it! It look like the real deal if you do not pick it up .. if not you can tell it does not weigh like the vintage ones .. the dial works .. the ring tone is like back in the old days

Fun Retro Phone
I got this model because it said you can turn off the ringer which is what I need. When I first turned the phone over to attach the wires I heard something rattling inside. I couldn't get a dial tone or answer the phone although it rang because the handset cradle buttons didn't raise up when the handset was lifted. My husband took the bottom off and found a spring was rattling around inside. I don't know if the arm the spring attached to is broken but he couldn't get the spring to stay on so he attached it to a screw nearby and then attached it to the moving arm and the phone works fine now. It sounds good, but I find the handset to be loud. The ringer is a lightweight bell sound not as deep as old phones. It's a fun retro looking phone overall.

Works great!
I love this phone! It’s got the nostalgic ring to it, and I can hear the person on the other end crystal clear. It was fun to teach my kids to dial it. They love making calls on it!

Works good, solid build.
I honestly wasn’t expecting much - I bought this for my “retro desk” with the serial terminal. For the price I figured it would be a flimsy plastic “look but don’t touch” kind of thing. But it’s actually pretty solidly built, and it works fine as a phone - the rotary dialing mechanism has some circuitry inside that makes it work as a touch tone phone, which means it works with modern analog/iP bridges like my Ooma, and the sound quality is fine for an analog headset. In addition, the rotary action is way faster than the phones I had as a kid, which makes dialing relatively painless.Very happy with the purchase! 5/5.

Love this phone
Easy to dial, I like the sound when I dial. Perfect for my space because it matches my coffee maker.

Almost...
Overall, the phone has a nice "vintage appearance" I was looking for, but some of the details are lost in this design upon closer look or the functionality is not quite there. The phone base and receiver are both fairly hefty and solid with a good weight that won't slide around the table or desk, even when stretching the cord to its max. The sound quality is fine through the ear piece and the ringer has that nice mechanical bell sound. My one gripe with the phone is the ringer switch on the bottom of the phone. There is an "L" and "H", presumably for low volume and high volume (see picture); however, when switched to the "L", the ringer is actually turned off and when switched to the "H", there is a ringer sound. So, technically, there is only one ringer volume that is non-adjustable. Would have been better to have a dial to adjust ringer volume similar to the old Bell South phones or have a three-position switch with low, off, and high options. One other "nice-to-have" on this phone is to have the numbers on the outside of the dial like most rotary phones I remember and in the middle of the rotary dial, instead of having the "Medal of Times your memory", add in a template for putting your home number.
